Description:

This swap is for dedicated ladies who love journaling but also pen palling. It is a great way to indulge both of your interests! You need to purchase a journal...your choice of course, but please make sure there are at least 100 pages in it. You must make sure that on the first page of the journal you include the name of the swap, your swapbot name, your postal mailing address and the date you start it. On the first few pages of the journal, introduce yourself to your partner. Tell them all about your life, your job, your studies, your interests, your family and everyday things. The purpose of this journal is to get to know each other and feel comfortable writing back and forth. Please make sure your first letter inside the journal is at least 6 to 10 pages long. It can be longer of course! Decorate the pages as you like with things that reflect who you are and your likes. You can add scarecrows and pumpkins for the upcoming fall season or anything that looks inviting and welcoming! After you have finished your first introductory letter, place the journal in an envelope and mail it to your partner. She will then start her letter right after yours. She will write her own introductory letter and send it back to you. The idea behind this is to keep the journal going back and forth. You will rate your partner on the first round, but hopefully the both of you will continue writing back and forth in the journal for years to come. When you reach the end of one journal, you can continue in another or start using paper. Again..this is about making a commitment and forming a lifelong friendship. Only those who have this intention need apply! I like the idea of the journal because as you write each other over time, you can add family photos and make it so personal!

Once you try this, you'll enjoy it so much!

Sadly I have tried it once but the other person never bothered returning my journal after her round and she didn't respond to any messages. :( I would love to take another try if I knew that I"l get the journal back.

I often wonder how many of these actually make it back.. And doesn't the cost to ship it all the time get expensive?

I noticed that International. But I am from USA

If you make the commitment to write, it works. You can always switch to regular paper once the friendship is established

Should we write front and back or just front? And also, I have a few 100 page compositional journals that I have only used two pages so I can tear those pages out and use the rest of the journal if that's okay and I also have several 40 page journals(80 if you count front and back) that are lighter and would save on postage.

Does each partner in this swap have their own journal? Or does each set of 2 partners only have one journal between them?

I am finding all these beautiful journals for this swap that don't have spiral binding, but they are 80 pages. Any chance you would be willing to change the journal swap requirements to between 80-100 pages? Thanks Denise!

I'm using a composition book that I decorated with pretty paper :)

okay, thats a good idea. I think I can find a pretty composition notebook and they all seem to have 100 pages
