Description:

This swap is a bit of a twist. We aren't going to send a finished project to our partners. We will actually send multiple finished projects to a great charity. We are sewing for One Boy For Change Warrior Bead Project. This awesome program creates strings of special beads to honor the medical journey of chronically ill kids. Please check out the One Boy 4 Change website here or check out his facebook page here for more information on this awesome young man and his great outreach.

You can make as many drawstring bags as you desire. I sent 25 last time and I currently have about 30 cut and ironed. You can make them in any size ranging from 8 x 8 to 12 x 18. You are welcome to any size in between as well. This is not an exact science as the bags are given to the kids to store their beads in. Bright fun fabrics for boys or girls or both are welcome. I have been using some of my extra yardage from past projects for the ones I am making.

You can use any pattern or method to make the drawstring bags you prefer. Here is the link for the way I make mine.

Once swap partners are assigned, I will email the address to all of you to send your bags and you will email your partner a picture or two of your bags. We are mailing to a USA charity. I would love to have a picture of them also.

Let's get sewing and blessing this awesome young man and his outreach to others.

I thought I would share some of my progress in Warrior Bead Bags.

I will send bags to the charity, but not sign up for the swap. Will also use this project to help teach sewing to my ESL women and help them make some as well.

@debhous that is awesome! What a great idea to use as a teaching project and to bless others at the same time. Thank you for letting me know!
