Description:

I've just started making pendants out of microscope slides, and would love to see what others are doing with the medium! I'm pretty new, but haven't see one of these here yet.

Microscope slide pendants consist of a tiny collage or piece of art sandwiched between two slides and either soldered together or bound in polymer clay (there may be other ways to hold it together, but check with me first so I can update this--the pendant should be wearable and water resistant). This swap is open to beginners and advanced participants, but be sure to send something you would be happy to receive in return. Try to tailor your color selection, etc. to your partner's profile if possible. Don't just put in a magazine page and call it done--make any recycled art your own by altering and embellishing. If you want to see examples, do a search on etsy, as many talented artists are selling these pendants there. Flickr has plenty as well.

This is INTERNATIONAL and open to reliable traders with at least 2 rated mailed swaps and 4.5 ratings and above, with no no-sends in the past six months. Package your pendant carefully because remember--glass can break so easily. Contact me with any questions or post here!

So who wants to play?

Any idea where to get the microscope slides?

I ordered mine online from a supplier, but if you have any stores in your area that cater to teachers, they might have some. It is worth a call. Stampington sells them online, I know, but I got mine cheaper by ordering more from a microsope supply place.
