Description:

This is a continuing series of swaps in which we will end up with tags that can then be tied together or put on a ring to create a small eclectic journal. We will be building our journal 1 tag at a time. You could also just tuck your tags into a pocket in your journal, or smash them in.

You can use a premade shipping tag, or make a sturdy tag in the shape of a premade one. Don't forget to reinforce the hole at the top if you create your own, so that it's sturdy.

Decorating

You will be decorating your tag on both sides, the main focus will be the front with the back lightly decorated. Your Swap-bot name and date created must be included on the back.

You may use any media means you wish except making this fully digital. Feel free to use paints, inks, papers, ephemera, drawing, rubber stamping, collage, etc. You may add extra little decorative bits like a little pocket, fibers, or paper clip. You may want to leave a bit of space so that your partner can write on her tag if she wishes.

You need not be an artist, but you will need to put some time and thought into creating your tags. No sticker slapping - which includes slapping on die cuts!

Tag Size

The tag you use should be around the size of a NO. 5 shipping tag, which is 4 3/4" X 2 3/8. Bigger would also be acceptable, but your tag cannot be any smaller. Varying the size of the tags would give the journal some interest and a more eclectic feel.

Theme

The theme for this round is flowers. Send your partner some type of wish or greeting for May. You need not be an artist, but you will need to put some time and thought into creating your tags. No sticker slapping - which includes slapping on die cuts!

Sending

Please secure your tag safely in the envelope to minimize chance of damage. Be sure to include the swap name and your name.

i was in a similar swap a few years ago when i first started with swap-bot and i have to say this is to this day one of my most endearing pieces i ever received from other partners. it's amazing how even though there are different partners each month the journal came together beautifully and when it was done it soon became a cherished piece for me. i go back to it often and gain peace and encouragement each time. thanks for hosting and i encourage everyone else to join if your on the fence about this one. you'll be glad you did.

Does our note go on the tag or is it just separate?
