Description:

For all the swappers who like to learn new languages...

I think it could be fun to prepare a sort of enjoyable language lesson for our partner. Introduce your native language in whatever ways you wish, just make it enjoyable.

You can make your lesson in a form of flipbook or a mini zine, but you can come up with your own idea. Just be creative and put some effort to it, to make something nice you would like to receive.

As we all communicate here in English, this is more of a swap for the non-English speaking natives, but you can participate even if you are English. You can present the second language you learn or you can present English but in some more creative and surprising way than we all learnt in school. Give us something new!

To prevent having two people from the same country as partners, I have to ask you to write down the language you wish to present in the comment section and thus allow only one person for one language. I am from Czech republic, so Czech language is mine! :D

Lowest rating allowed: 4.95. Newbies are allowed to participate (I am also here for quite a short time :D) with well filled profile. I will angel if neccessary, so in case of any problems with your partner contact me.

Hope you will enjoy! Maybe if you enjoy your lesson you can continue with this kind of pen-palling with your partner :)

I have some really beautiful Swedish, French and German postcards. I am a Russian language student so I'd really love to receive cards in Russian.

I hope you have this swap again, I don't have time at the beginning of August and unfortunately I can't join you all. Hopefully I will be able to do it at a later date. I have good ideas. Have fun everyone.

Perhaps everyone can send their copies to me [electronically] and I can compile them into some kind of zine, since we are going to spend so much energy making them. That way, everyone can learn these languages! It might be more reasonable to scan your work and send it to me electronically. Then, I can send it to everyone in this swap. Thanks for putting on this swap! If you think this is a good idea, you can post here...

BPechova 07/28/2016 #

@pcmiminini great idea! I will send you mine when I will have it finished ;)

Babytreese 07/29/2016 #

Love that idea @pcmiminini Thanks so much!

I would like to do American Sign Language....I hope someone does Arabic...I would love that "lesson"...

darkpeppermint 07/30/2016 #

I'm from the US and my native language is English, but I also speak Spanish, German, and Swedish; however, it seems that all of those languages are covered already. I could do a zine specifically on idioms for one of those 4 languages though, as I know those can be quite tricky to learn. Or, if that's not ok, I'll just keep an eye out for this swap to happen again sometime.

BPechova 07/31/2016 #

@darkpeppermint I think the idioms will be great, choose whatever language you want ;)

I can do Icelandic or Japanese, depending on my partner's preferences. 😊

bluesky 08/ 2/2016 #

@BPechova no just a few days, but have to/want to speak with locals, well they do English or even German but its always nice to know something in someone else"s mother language :)

BPechova 08/ 8/2016 #

@bluesky And where exactly are you travelling? Prague? I have to warn you :D Many Czech people (especially the elderly) who do not speak any other language than Czech just speak Czech with the tourists and when they think they don't understand, they speak louder and louder, but do not try to help any other way :D

pcmiminini 08/ 9/2016 #

If you want to receive a compilation of the language lessons I have gotten, message me with a scan of your own language lesson. I have two so far, my own and another person's.
