Description:

Alright, let's really get into the Halloween mood!

Now, this swap is sender's choice. Yes, this is a shorter turn around time to mail than I would usually do, but you can put it together before partners are assigned if you want.

How this is going to work

Below is a list of things to find in your scavenger hunt.

You decide how to capture each thing. (stickers of the thing, drawing, picture, magazine article, I will post more ideas for this in the comments.)

At least one of the things in your hunt must be made by you. (i.e. an atc, handmade pc, bookmark, etc).

I am leaving how you interpret the things fairly open so that everyone can join regardless of the amount of halloween junk they have lying around.

This can easily be a flat swap or a small package. That is up to you.

Vary it up though. Do not satisfy all the prompts the same way. Variety is the spice of life.

The mailing vessel (envelope or other) needs to be interesting and a little Halloweeny at least.

Things to find

  • skeleton
  • trick or treat
  • candy corn
  • pumpkin
  • fake vampire teeth
  • spider
  • orange and black
  • graveyard
  • bat
  • ghost
  • D.I.Y. project
  • magic potion
  • black cat

There are 13 items, spooky.

eta: You need to have 13 things total- one for each item on the scavenger hunt! If you find something that hits two or more points, pick which one to count it as.

(i.e. if you find a postcard of a skeleton in a graveyard, you can use it for skeleton or graveyard- not both.)

Some more ways to meet the thing prompts:
photographs
stickers
magazine/ book cut outs
ephemera
beads
window clings
patches
recipe
washi tape samples
playing/ trading cards
drawings
postcards
notecards/ stationery
scrapbook paper
address labels for your partner to use
(ditto with swap cards)
stamps (used or new)
NEW bandaids
pressed pennies
bookmarks
sample size of makeup
small trinkets or charms
envelope seals

and on and on. That should be enough ideas to get you guys started though.

I'm going to ask the dumb question, the handmade thing is to cover the D.I.Y. requirement? Can other things be handmade not store bought?

Not a dumb question, I am glad you asked!

So, the D.I.Y. project can be something you make, it could also be a magazine clipping for a D.I.Y. project, a photograph of a D.I.Y. decoration spotted in your neighborhood, etc.

You can hand make as much as you want to make. As long as at least one thing is handmade by you.

I try to leave swaps like this open between handmade and store bought so more people feel they will be able to join the swap. Sometimes my descriptions get a little convoluted though, so always ask if I am not making 100% sense!

I should also specify that you cannot double dip. You need to have 13 items total. I will add that to the swap description.

Thanks!

How about stamped images as a "thing"? S'okay?

oblivionspin 10/ 5/2016 #

Yes. Neatly stamped images can be used as a thing. (:
