**Taking over the hosting duties for @seekingjoytoday This was her original swap.

This swap is based on the work of these designers. You'll want to read the article to get an idea what I'm talking about.

Dear Data

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to choose something to track for one week and represent it creatively on a postcard. Although the postcard itself will be kind of easy, this is a pretty big commitment as you'll see when reading the article.

You can track anything you want. PCs should be 4x6. On the PC, you should have:

FRONT: Representation of your data in any format you choose.

BACK: What you tracked, basic key, swap name, swap-bot user ID, and your name

You must have at least a 4.9 rating.

Have fun!

Cool! I've often wanted to try the "dear data" approach, ever since I read about it on the Postcrossing blog. Thanks for hosting!

How strict are you about the dimensions of the postcard? Interested users of the Metric system want to know.

ace81620 04/20/2017 #

@SuMay - Good question! I'm not strict about the dimensions. No swapper should measure and rate lower if it's not exactly 4"x6" as stated above. The postcard should fall within the standard international postcard size, which is roughly size A6 (148mm x 105mm). Of course, if you need a bit of extra space to accommodate your design, please adjust the size accordingly.

I'm glad you are excited to try Dear Data, too! It's fun :)

I checked out the book from my local library. I never would have thought of all of those different ways to track the data and variables. The two women in the book are very clever. It gave me some great ideas on how I want to track mine. Thanks so much for running the swap @ace81620 !

@crescendo - That's great! I agree... such a clever book :) I'll be hosting another Dear Data swap soon. Hope to see you there!
