Description:

I love getting envelopes filled with random items. Sometimes there's things I can't use. But alot of times there are things I didn't realize I need and was missing...lol

For this swap you are going to put at least 3 items in an envelope, add a note with the swap name and seal it. When partners are assigned, address, stamp and mail it off to your partner.

Suggestions, but not limited to:

stickers

memo papers

bookmark

ribbon

washi samples

foreign coin

postcards

new and/or used stamps

gift tag

game/puzzle pieces

journal/smash items

I think you get the idea.

Please remember to rate a 5 as long as you receive the swap with at least 3 items. Add a heart if it's special to you. You are not suppose to rate lower if it's something you don't like or have no use for. I will be hosting again and you can re-gift the items you can't use.

Newbies welcomed, with a well filled out profile (I DO CHECK AND WILL BAN). No recent/unexplained low ratings. PLEASE check out my profile page and read the "About Swaps I Host" section for an in-depth explaination of my swap rules.

If you know of a bad swapper signed up for this swap, I appreciate being informed, but please DO NOT post to the comment section! Send me a PM and I will deal with it that way

I also love an envelope of random paper items, but I've gotten burned on a similar type of swap recently, so I'm hesitant now. I send out an envelope full of nice, quality items (note cards, postcards, stationary), and received an envelope of trash (a piece of tissue paper, a napkin, a children's playing card). So while technically it fulfilled the requirements, it was really disappointing. It seems just about any scrap of paper qualifies under the broad umbrella of "ephemera" (and probably also "smash journal"). I don't get the point of sending each other useless stuff. Personally, I always check profiles even on "sender's choice" swaps, because sending someone things they don't like is just wasting postage. I wonder if there's a way to normalize expectations so that people send and receive similar types of things?

@tsireldi - sure there is a way...by putting in the swap descripton that only the items listed are allowed.

I don't mind the other bits you described. I'm working on a Junk Journal so those items get put into it

I'm afraid I didn't get the email to notify me that partners were assigned and missed it by a day. I'm sending it out today. I receive the email when I sign up for a swap, but never getting the emails to know when the partners were assigned. Can anyone advise what I might need to do so that I get the notification when the assignments are made for swaps? TIA

@recycleit I keep a little notebook that tells me what swaps I have signed up for and when the deadline is to have it mailed. This way I don't miss any deadlines. The host of the swap has 24 hours to assign partners after the swap signup deadline. If the host doesn't do this the swap drops. So you know that after 24 hours partners are assigned or the swap doesn't exist anymore.
