Description:

ATCs. They're frequently the topic of swaps here and when I was new I wanted to try them. But first I researched. I recommend you google for sure. Get a feel for more than 1 or 2. See the creativity involved. Some people draw or paint. I can't do either so I'd call what I do "collage" but I don't put an image and a sticker. That's not creative.

The one technical rule of ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) is the size. These must be 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches. To place the size in mind - it's the standard size of a baseball or other sports trading card. I use to buy cheap packs and alter them so I at least had the size and a good thickness. I also have gotten "blanks" from Dick Blicks or craft stores like that.

The theme is 100% the senders choice on this. Try one or a few as practice. You could even wait to see your partner to make something special for them.

You may NOT rate less than a 5 for a swap here that you don't like. You rate here based on did the swap meet requirements including send date.

On the back of your ATC - it is my requirement that you put the swap title and your Swapbot name so a user is able to rate you. Feel free to look up "ATC backs" as some people love to make their swap as nice as possible. I'm providing a link above where you can do some reading on the swap topic.

The style of this ATC is also senders choice. You may paint, draw, color, or collage but in the case of collage - that must include 3 elements.

Ask all questions PRIOR to joining the swap. A pouch for an ATC is not required. I put mine in a sheet on 9 so I wind up having all these loose pouches/sleeves. You can put it in a pouch or a sleeve but that is not required.

Never made an ATC before, can't wait to try this out. One question: Should the card be fully covered? I'm thinking of making a peacock on one, and don't really want to do a background. But I don't want it to look like it's missing something if it's supposed to be fully covered on the one side.

Art is art. If collaging I'd recommend covering it fully or giving it a border at least but when drawing or painting, it wouldn't have to cover the entire card but should be a fair size. I hope that makes sense. ♥

It does! I just got another great idea for ATCs on a cross stitch group I'm in too! Getting excited about ATCs now
