Description:

The US midterm elections are in November - it's almost time to VOTE!

All 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 34 of the 100 seats in the Senate will be up for election, and there are other big state and local elections happening as well.

There are three parts to this swap:

  • Make sure you are registered to vote. If you're not sure, visit your local board of elections or go to www.rockthevote.org/voting-information/ to find out how. Each state has its own deadline so do this part SOON!

  • On November 6th (or sooner if you have that option), VOTE! Try to encourage those around you to make their voices heard too if you can.

  • When you're done voting, send an email to each of your partners and tell them about your voting experience. Make sure you include the name of the swap and your username so you can be rated. Share whatever you'd like - When did you vote? Did you vote in person or some other way? Did you go alone or with other people? Was it busy? Where was your polling place? Do you have a story to share about voting?

You do not need to say who you voted for or what party you're part of. This is not the place for a nasty political debate; this swap is for the purpose of encouraging each other to vote and sharing about our experiences doing so. Everyone with the ability to vote has a responsibility to make their voices heard in order to help make our country and our world a better place.

I love hearing people’s voting stories so we will have 10 partners in this swap. Please note that this is an electronic swap and nothing physical will be sent by mail. You can send to all of your partners at once using BCC to enter the addresses.

Newbies are welcome with a well filled out profile. This could be a good rating booster if you need it, but any past 1s must be addressed and you need to show that you are working to make things right before you can participate in new swaps. I will angel if necessary, but the registering and voting part is up to each one of us!

Well voting in Washington isn't very exciting all our ballots are mailed in.

@starhiker People with mail-in ballots are still welcome to participate - I wish all states had an easier option like that!

It actually makes for a more accurate count if a recount is needed. It's something physical that can be counted rather than relying on a computer count. Our voter turnout is higher but I do miss goin to the fire hall to vote and getting my little i voted sticker.
