Description:

Hello Magpie Lovers! Let’s create a devoted mini Valentine Magpie. What’s a devoted mini you ask? It’s a pocket size or smaller (3.5x 4.5 at largest) bound composition book that you will fill 20 pages. Make sure your pages are sturdy by gluing two pages together to make stronger.

*****You may make your own book with 20 pages but please be sure it’s bound nicely and can endure lots of flip thrus without pages falling out or detaching.*****

Inside you will be inspired by Valentine colors or items possibly uisng ideas posted below. Be as creative as you see fit. Perhaps give some details on what you include or use some decorative way to display the item.

Also add a few goodies (3-4) for your partner inside your book. Can be stickers, labels, tags, envies, stickies, ribbon, Washi, paper clip, charm, ATC, etc. something small.

Make it unique and chunky! Because these are so small, it will be easy to fill a page quickly and you might be surprised at how quickly it comes together. You can start right away as this isn’t partner specific.

Share a favorite memory or vision you have for Valentine’s Day. Can be a few words that state plans you have for this year or a time you shared Valentine cheer to another. Just something to personalize your book.

I am hoping this encourages creativity as we look at items we use throughout our day.

A school Valentine.

A Valentine newspaper article or magazine cut out.

A wrapper, box clipping, etc. of something you ate that’s Valentine related.

Practice your hand lettering, write a short Valentine poem or haiku, etc

A Valentine recipe you want to share.

A receipt for a Valentine item.

A sample of Valentine Washi.

A Valentine picture of something you love.

A piece of nature (leaf, flower, tree rubbing, etc) such as favorite Valentine flower.

Something in Valentine colors.

A Valentine doodle.

Valentine candy wrapper.

Be creative.

Please don’t send sticky or stinky items.

Also, please read your partner’s profile to be sure you don’t send something they could be allergic to.

You will have a month to complete this swap.

At present, this is a US swap but another swapper may set up an international swap if desired.

Have fun with it!

I like to make my own book rather than use an already bound composition book. That way if something gets messed up I can just replace the page. Is this permissible or does it HAVE to be a composition book?

I made my own book. It's heart shaped!
