Hi swappers!

For this swap you'll be following the tutorial found HERE to create scrap paper flowers for your partner.

You'll create 3 flowers for your partner. The maximum size for each flower is 3". You may certainly make smaller flowers if you choose. Please use a minimum of 4 layers for each flower. The tutor uses thinner paper (book pages, coffee-dyed paper, etc.) and I think the 'scrunching' will work better if you do the same--at least use thinner scrapbook paper if you choose to use scrapbook paper. No need to go 'all neutral' . . . use colors if you prefer.

I'm not sure why she doesn't cut the shank off the button she uses as the center--it's easy to do. You may use buttons or brads or other small embellishments as your flower centers.

You might ink the edges, add sparkles, be creative and have fun creating some spring flowers for your partner!

I made some practice flowers and had good luck; however, the ones I created with VINTAGE book pages tore a bit after the scrunching process. Anyone else try book pages?

I tried with colored copy paper and distressed it on my own. That worked well :)

@isabellasnow I used to do a similar technique using a scallop punch and book pages/music sheets. One thing that helps tremendously in getting the "scrunchy" look is to mist the paper lightly with water before scrunching. This helps keep the paper soft and hopefully not tearing. It also adds to the scrunchiness. Just mist, scrunch up, let dry, then rearrange and embellish and finish as desired. Hope this helps!

Oh, great idea! Thank you for the tip. I'm making my 'real' ones this afternoon; I'm so glad I saw this!
