Description:

Do you know what is a gluebook? It's not really defined by itself but at the same time, it's easy to understand what it means. Basically, it is a book where you will glue stuff, as simple as that!

Use anything you want as a base, a new & blank notebook that you decide you want to glue things in, a manila folder you fold, a stack of cards, an old book, a stack of pages of blank copy paper that you fold in half (called a signature) that you use as a kind of a notebook, etc., etc.

They don't have a specific purpose, they just need to make you happy and help you grow confidence if you're devoted to journaling or for collage practice or mixed media exercises! Don't find a reason, let's just practice gluebook-making!

I am inspired by the artist Margarete Miller and using some of her prompts and formula!

Basics for this swap:

  • You are making 3 different pages
  • Page' Size: 7" X 5"
  • Decorate one side and sign the back plus the swap name, your SB ID and the date
  • The formula is 1 piece of patterned paper + scraps (based on the given prompts which are 6 this time) + embellishment
  • For page 1: use the following prompts:
A poem (or part of it) A bird. A measurement. Stitching (real, drawn or stamped). Repeated rubber stamping
    A postal item
  • For Page 2 use the following prompts:
    Thread(s) or 1 piece(s) of fabric
    A quote
Something you see through the window (whichever form)
A postcard or letter (or portion thereof)
    A label
-For page 3) you will pick your six prompts to work with (please write in the back the prompts you picked for)

Please feel free to question, suggest or comment. I'll make changes if needed!

I have been wanting to try a glue book, but I'm super confused by the requirements :/ Each page must have a) 1 pc. of patterned paper AND items based on the 6 prompts (a poem, a bird, a measurement, stitching, repeated stamping, a postal item) Then it must also have b) threads or fabric, a quote, something you see through a window, postcard or letter, a date, a label. Is that correct? Also, I'm not understanding what is meant by part c)
