Description:

Remember those cootie catchers everyone made in elementary school? I think we could take something like that and bring it to the NEXT LEVEL.

Let your imagination run wild. Anything goes as long as it simulates a standard cootie catcher experience. (That sounded cooler in my head, I promise.)

Here is a quick tutorial: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Cootie-Catcher

REQUIREMENTS:

-Your cootie catcher has to be at least decorated somehow. No white sheets of paper with some stickers here and there. Think out of the box!

-No jumbo or tiny ones allowed. These must be standard sized. (Made with 8.5x11 paper)

You can flatten your cootie catcher so it will fit into an envelope to make postage a cheaper.

I have the right to ban anyone I think might flake. Have fun!

I always made cootie catchers with a square piece of paper...do you have directions for folding one from 8.5X11?

They have a different name in Portugal too. Here we call it "Quantos queres?" that means "How many do you want?". Here we ask how many does the person want and then we open and close it that many times. Than the person chooses one color or number (depending on what was used to decorate the outside of the paper) and reads his/hers fortune.

I’ll put this swap on my watch list… it’s going to be fun to discover how a simple game can mean so different things depending on the country you are from!

okay.. so I joined this only because my 10 y/o "loves to make these" and thought I could get creative with it.. I wish everyone would post pics of what they come up with ..

I am so excited! My 10y/o daughter loves these also!! You make the cootie catcher out of an 8.5 inch square, cutting a bit off one edge. COOL! I would like to have all of the "sayings" be positive for mine please. Fran
