International mail Art : Where Art and Mail Collide

Sure everyone likes to get interesting stuff in the mail. I'm no exception. I have a long history of sending oddly decorated packages and bizarre envelopes and postcards to my family and friends.

There's an entire art movement dedicated to sending out creative mail called Mail Art or also known as Correspondence Art. All you need is some rubber stamps, recycled magazines and books, drawing materials and a few envelopes/ postcards and a vivid imagination.

Mail Art can be as simple as having lots of artist pen friends and exchanging art by post. It's also a bit deeper than that. The mail art project focus’s on postcards and envelopes made by Artists from all over the world. It is a growing collection of contemporary mail art in any medium. Mail art gives postal workers something interesting to look at.

As we learn all about mailart together and about different styles and techniques, I am going to gather together all our findings and members input.. to put together a book based on mailart. It will have all members original creations in the book from beginner to advanced.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This swap is for 3 partners and you will send your partners 1 handmade postcard each using recycled materials..such as newspaper clippings, magazine cut outs, photographs etc whatever it may be. Let's keep our recycled materials out of the dumpster.
The swap will be international and also open to newbies with a filled out profile. if you have any questions please ask me.
This sounds fun, I am just a novice, but I love making cards so it will be a bit like collage with my handmade postcards from newspaper clippings and magazine cut outs, I will give it a go:)
