Description:

If you've been on Swap-bot for a minute, you have likely been burned by a flaker. It is the worst. Tolerable if it is an eSwap; annoying if it is a type 2 (fits in an envelope); but it is TOTALLY HEARTBREAKING when it is a Type 3 Swap (time intensive craft sent in a box or large bubble envelope/mailer).

So for this swap, you get to RIGHT the WRONG that was done to someone who did the RIGHT THING and sent a GREAT Type 3 swap, but was jilted by their partner.

How it works:

Write down your "jilted swapper story" in the comments below. When partners are assigned, find your partner's story in the comments, read their profile, and send a really nice Type 3 swap to make up for the lame partner they had that left them standing at the Type 3 Swap Altar. A nice letter is also required. If you aren't sure as to what constitutes a nice letter, this swap is probably not a good fit for you.

Only one partner for this swap.

You must be an active swapper and a generous giver by nature. NO 1's or 3's in the past year without excellent explanations, and what you did to try and rectify the 1 or 3. (I get that there are some great swappers out there who got screwed over by a bad rating that was frankly, totally unjustified.) Send me a message offline if this has happened to you, and we can discuss getting you into this swap.

You have two weeks to mail the swap from the date partners are assigned. If you need more time- discuss it with your partner FIRST and make sure they are ok with an extension.

This is a RAK Swap (Random Act of Kindness), and requires a big spirit of generosity, significant things/goodies, and a crafting component of your choice (handmade card, Pen-pal style letter, trifold, pocket letter, flip book, etc.-- just do what you are good at.).

THANK YOU!!!

So there I was... dreaming of new stationary and notecards and wishing I could have a bunch of new sets without buying big packets.. I did a couple small swaps for a set here and a notecard there, but it wasn't enough. So I set up my own Stationary and Notecard swap as a type 3. I sent a big fat mailer ($9 in postage if I remember right...) to my partner and she loved it. My partner, was a newbie. The ONLY newbie I allowed into my swap based on our email exchanges. AND JUST GUESS who swap-bot partnered me up with??? The newbie. Now, I was a newbie once, and not that long ago, so I wanted to stay positive and give this person a fighting chance... but the person never responded to any of my other emails and has literally disappeared off the face of the earth. Hasn't logged into SB since the date the partners were assigned for this particular swap... I was so bummed out. Part of me never wants to host a Type 3 again, the other part wants to move on and forget it. But there are some swaps you get attached to, and when you are crafting your part of the swap, all you can do is day dream about what might be coming your way in a couple weeks... the anticipation builds, and the let-down ends up taking a lot of wind out of your sails. So that is my sad story... I have others, but that one stung the most because of my love of paper and how much i invested in my part of the swap, and the fact that i trusted someone and let them into the swap as the host, even though based on my rules for the swap, they didn't qualify... boohoo.

Sadly I have been flaked on several times over the last 6 months. I never had this problem when I first joined. The one swap I was really disappointed to not receive was a snail themed swap. It was sender choice of what and how much to send, it just had to be snail themed. Since this is about bad swap experiences I can't help but share the fact that someone once sent me a half empty box of maxi pads in a medium flat rate box destash. I mean, I don't want to seem ungrateful but maxi pads? Really lol?! At any rate, this is a WONDERFUL idea for a swap and would be grateful to receive some snail themed goodies.
