Description:

This swap is international and open to all who are in good standing in the Chunky Book Artists group. We will be making BUTTERFLY shaped chunky book pages. We will have 5 partners and create 6 pages. That is 1 page per partner plus an additional one to keep……..6 pages in all.

We will be using the BUTTERFLY TEMPLATE on my blog under "Chunky Books and Pages". It uploads to a 8.48 x 6 inch print out (including the background border).

The front of the page should be heavily decorated and embellished. The back should be nicely finished and signed by the artist. Please use heavy gauge sturdy cardstock as a base for your pages. Remember, these are “chunky pages”.

In creating these pages we are not going to worry about the usual “1/2” inch edge used for binding. Instead, I thought it better to punch a whole in the upper left wing of all our pages and bind them together using a hinged binding ring or decorative ribbon. You will do this once you have received all your pages from your 5 partners. Please do not punch holes into pages you are sending out. Your partner may wish to place the hole somewhere else or use some other form of binding.

This is an artistic endeavor and we should create that which we would love to receive. Please do not sign up if you haven’t the time for this or you are over loaded with too many swaps. This swap will require some time and thought and creative energy. No one wants to receive something that is just thoughtlessly and haphazardly thrown together last minute.

As the hostess of this swap, I reserve the right to ban anyone who does not meet the requirements.

Please....do your best to get your pages out on time.

See you around the swap-bot and have a most beautiful day…..

I tried to look at the template and I couldn't - it said your page was private.

I've put this on my watchlist :-)

Playswithneedles.....

So sorry about that......not sure why that happened because I have the template in my swap-bot group and all are public. But that still wont help those who haven't a Flickr account. So I have moved it to my blog. You should be able to download it to your pc now. :-)

If anyone still has trouble downloading it to the right size, let me know and I will send you a template via snail mail.

A quick question. So we cut the butterfly out right? Then will it be the correct size or do we need to resize it before printing? Also, I am assuming these butterflies are to be decorated with all different types of medium correct? For instance, beads, paint, ribbon etc. correct? I think this sounds like a really fun challenging swap. I'm really looking forward to it. ;D

I guess that was more than one question huh? LOL

Hi Syndee....

Sorry I missed your question.....been real busy.

Yes, we are going to cut out the butterfly and decorate it. You can decorate your butterflies any way you choose to. Just be sure you use a sturdy, heavy weight card stock. You can also decorate all 5 the same or design each butterfly differently.

Also.....I am going to send everyone a template so that we are all using the same size butterfly.

Thanks for joining the swap.....

Hi.... I have been very busy these past weeks. I just sent out the butterfly templates today. So I will move the send out due date from May 2nd to the 18th of May. This will give us a little over 4 weeks after the sign up date cut off.

A quick Question, Art the pages square with the butterfly on them or are they actually the shape of the butterfly....Thanks, Erin

I have not signed up for this swap yet. Just need to be sure I have the time to put into this as I like to put a lot of work into pages like this
