Description:

This swap is to swap supplies that would be useful for completing the popular December Daily scrapbook. These supplies will need to be themed specifically towards Christmas (popular Christmas themes and colors,) Winter, or be truly generic and useful at any time. (for example clear glitter) The idea is to stuff an envelope that is 6x9 or larger.

The items should be secular, and NOT religious. (No nativities, wise men, or baby Jesus. Yes snowmen, Christmas trees, and presents.)

This swap idea came to me when I recently purchased several packs and pages of journal cards for my December Daily and ended up with several that are not my color scheme or style. I was torn between trying to spend extra time to make them suit, get rid of them, or just have them stored away somewhere. I decided it would be perfect if I can send them to someone else!

We will take a large envelope (use as large as you need but it should be 6x9 or larger) and fill it with an assortment of items useful for doing December Daily. NO envelopes smaller than 6x9 inches!

Send an assortment of useful items that you would like to receive.

Examples: washi tape in gold, silver, red, green, white, or Christmas designs

stickers specific to Christmas or that help prompt stories and journaling

embellishments in Christmas colors or themes- these can be small like glitter (in envelopes or containers of some kind) or larger like felt numbers

journal cards on the theme or in seasonal colors and useful for the theme

decent-sized scraps of specialty papers- on theme to winter or Christmas, or seasonal colors like red, green, white, gold, or silver. Glitter paper, patterned papers, etc.

die-cuts- on theme, numbers, letters, and/or in seasonal colors

ribbon or cording in useful lengths

small rubber stamps on theme (used or new but clean and usable)

Items can be handmade or purchased. This is a great way to swap some journal cards you don't love or that don't match your style or some embellishments from previous kits that are sort of kicking around. Maybe you have a spool of ribbon that you've used so much you're just sick of seeing it or maybe you purchased something that just doesn't match your other supplies.

Keep in mind people utilize different sizes and styles of books to do this project so try not to include anything that only works with a specific book. If possible include items with no holes punched so your partner can customize them. Or contact your swap partner and ask what book style they are using and send items to suit their exact book.

I don't want to set exact parameters on what to send, but try to truly aim for super heart-worthy and almost like a gift in and of itself. Picture receiving an exciting package from a Scrapbook company and try to keep that general vibe. It should be exciting to receive and fun to use.

Things NOT to Send: Anything on a random theme and not related to Christmas/Winter (no birthday items, no random pastels, no congratulations, or random baby stuff, etc)

No religion-specific items or general religious items

Just a bunch of stamped images or die cuts- aim for a variety of items and not an envelope full of one type of thing

Teeny, tiny, practically useless scraps- this includes sending a single inch of ribbon or stuffing an envelope with confetti-sized pieces of scrap paper. If you'd like to send tiny scraps do something creative first like creating a shaker pocket and sending the completed pocket.

Sending a larger envelope than 6x9 is not required. If you send a larger envelope please understand you may not receive such a large package in return.

Be sure to package your envelope as needed to avoid damage! Chipboard is always a fun and useful supply that can also help other items avoid damage. Try not to include useless packaging just to secure your items.

You need to be highly rated and an experienced swapper to participate. I will remove any swapper that I suspect may not send a good swap package or that I suspect will flake. I've only recently returned to swap-bot myself so I know things happen. If you feel you have a good reason for your current rating or other info that may cause you to be denied from the swap please contact me before it is time to assign partners.
