Description:

Verse mapping is a form of intense study of a Scripture, digging deeper for personal Bible study.

Here is a quick guide to the components of verse mapping: Read. Map. Summarize. Apply. Pray.

Some people call verse mapping the S.O.A.P. method of Bible study which is: Scripture. Observation. Application. Prayer.

Others refer to it as Inductive Bible Study.

You do not need to buy anything for this swap. You will simply need:

  • a journal or notebook or some sheets of paper

  • a Bible and/or a Parallel Bible or access to a site like BibleGateway which offers more than 20 translations

  • something to write with: pen, markers, journaling pen, colored pencils, etc.

  • optional: a concordance, a Bible dictionary, multi-colored markers, stickers if you're crafty.

The Scripture

For this first swap, each person will use a personal favorite Scripture.

Send

Snail mail your partner a note or letter that includes the Scripture you used and what you learned or took away from the deep dive into the verse(s). You can add anything else you'd like to share.

In subsequent swaps, we'll all use the same Scripture to study and discuss.
