Description:

Better World Books is my absolute favorite place to buy books. Hands down, best ever. They have started a monthly reading challenge, and while I haven't been doing it regularly, I thought we could try it as a group swap.

You do NOT have to buy a book to do this swap. But, if you are going to buy a book, I suggest checking them out - they're great! (Especially if you love used books.) You do need to at least START the book before the send by date.

Just a reminder - June is National Audiobook month! So if you want to celebrate everything :) :) find a book that fits the category in audiobook form!

This swap will be international, EMAIL and you will have 1 partner. (We can do regional or snail mail as well, but I need your feedback)

The category for the month of June is : "Fantastic YA Fantasy" (That's the whole description, so make it what you wish) The link above for Better World Books should take you to their website, and on the left side of the screen you should see "Featured" with a few categories. Click the "Reading Challenge" option and you should see some options for the current month's book category. You do NOT have to buy one of these books, but if you are looking for ideas, you can see what they have selected and choose one of those books, or one similar and get it from wherever - library, other used book store, whatever works for you. You can even re-read an old favorite. EDIT 6/17 The category of YA seems to be rather fluid for books & authors. If you can, aim for books with main characters under age 18 - at one point that was the cut off age for YA, but skip "I can read" and picture books. :)**

Find the book you wish to read. Read the book. (or listen, you can choose an audiobook). When partners are assigned, send your partner an EMAIL (email to the one listed with your address - no swap bot messages for this. No links to blogs/etc UNLESS you have OK'ed it with your partner in advance.)

Send an EMAIL with the Title and author of the book you chose.

What did you think of the book? Is this a type of book you would usually read? Did you enjoy the book? Why or why not? You don't have to write a full review, aim for at least a paragraph.

Questions? Comments? Please send me a PM! I'll respond as soon as I can.

July category is: "Big Screen Books" if you want to look ahead. :)

Do you like this idea? Wish to continue? Please let me know :)

And if you have suggested titles for the category, feel free to list them below.

Feel free to share the title of the book you are reading for this challenge below, or suggest other titles!

I'm not really a big fan of YA books - or fantasy. In looking for ideas from Goodreads lists and the books suggested on BWB, I was reminded of some books I read as a teen that I really loved, so if I can find copies (they are antique by this time, after all) :) I thought I would re-read one of those. My take on Fantasy is usually more paranormal, but hopefully that's ok!

I haven't historically liked YA fantasy, but this year some of my favorite books are in that genre! I guess I just had to retire first ;)
