Description:

Do you listen to music that isn't considered popular or well known? Like Icelandic Jazz, or the Garage Band down the street, or Alternative String Quartets?

Here is a chance to create obscure music mixes and get your artsy juices flowing!

Le Guidelines:

  1. Create a mix CD with no less than 15 songs on a NEW disc. Please try to include no more than 2 songs by the same artist; if you're having trouble gathering up 15 songs, three is okay. But no more than three.

  2. Include a playlist and with each song write how you found out about the song/artist or why you like them.

  3. Create three (3) ATC's for each partner inspired by the music. this can mean a portrait of the artist(s), a card that depicts the mood of the song, or just the energy. have fun with this, but please create cards you would like to receive ; DON'T just slap something together! Strive for a lill' red heart :D

RECAP: You have Two (2) partners, you are sending each partner one (1) mix CD on new disc, a playlist with commentary (yes the commentary is required, make this track list a little more personal!) and Three (3) ATC's (three ATC's for each partner!)

You must have a rating of 4.5 or higher, and no "no sends." If you feel a No Send rating was unjust you must send me a message, otherwise I will delete your name. I want no flakers in this swap! Thanks!

PS The image used for this swap is an ATC I made after listening to The Divine Comedy's "Death of a Supernaturalist." :)

You didn't specify how many songs we could use by a single artist. Normally, it's capped at 2, but because this music is obsure, is it going to be different? I think capping the number at 3 is a good idea.

How about two preferred, three if they are amazing :D I actually was able to get about 20 songs all by different artists, but some people may not be able to gather up that many.

Thanks, and I'll edit it :D

most of the music I listen to is obscure it seems, so I'll bite.

Looks like you already edited it, but I would urge to anyone playing to cap the number of songs by the same artist(s) at two, not three. I'd rather see a lot of variety in whatever I get, and even if my partner thinks a certain band is amazing, I might not... Besides, I suspect there are MANY bands out there deserving of wider recognition!!

I could justify representing more than one artist in different projects, though - for example, throw in one song by The Fantomas, one song by Mr. Bungle, and one by Kaada/Patton. All Mike Patton projects, that sound... similar, but different enough that you can tell how he plays with various other folk.

My 2 cents, not to be pushy, hope I do not offend.

I am looking forward to musical enlightenment and hope that I can provide the same!

I have assigned partners! Sorry about the delay, my internet connection has been poor lately for some reason.

I have my mixes made and the ATC's nearly done! Can't wait to see what others create :D

Phew! Out they go! It's the ATCs that for some reason took me a while to get started.

Hey guys - mine just went out today; sorry for the backlog, I sort of ended up sacrificing expediency for quality.

Quality in my fevered mind, anyway. ~Mrrranda
