Description:

This swap is for two tags, each 3”x 6” ... but this time we have a TWIST. Here's the TWIST:

Tag #1: Make a tag with a side pocket (easy-peasy).

Tag #2: Greens & white, to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

Okay, only the first one has a TWIST.

Here's how to make a tag with a side pocket. Take a 6" square of cardstock & fold in half, with the opening on your right side. Cut the top corners to look like a tag. Glue or sew (your choice) the top of the tag & along the bottom of the tag, leaving the right-hand side open. Violá! A tag with a side pocket! Of course, we can't have a tag with an empty pocket, so please fill it with a journal card suitable for the recipient to write on. You can also add a little tab on the journal card for easy access, maybe a bit of embellishing, which is up to you.

As usual, start off with a base piece of sturdy cardboard, such as a cereal box. In the case of the tag with a pocket, use lovely cardstock, which will also be embellished.

Embellish by using scrapbook paper, book pages, music sheets, die cuts, words, fabric, lace, bling, charms, eyelets, anything. Create lovely layers. The items you can use are endless.

Note: Slapping on a couple pieces of paper or stickers is not good enough. Have a variety of items. Each item should vary in size, so your tag will look lovely. And it will still be pretty flat for the post office.

You can get started with making your tags right away. Then, when partners are chosen, you can send them out quickly. If you run into any problems, communicate with your partner. This is a requirement, not a suggestion.

Create something beautiful that you would like to receive. Be creative!

Remember to put your name & your Swap-Bot name on the back of each tag, with the swap name & date you made the tag. You can also add your address or email, but at the very least, write your town/state/country on the back of each tag. I, personally, love to look back on these tags & see who made them for me!

And, most of all, have fun!
