Description:

For this swap, you are going to recycle/upcycle a pop/soda can. Make sure the can is rinsed and clean. You can make your partner anything you wish as long as it has the metal from a pop/soda can. It is sender's choice on what to make. I have die cut and embossed using an embossing folding using the metal from the pop/soda can. To open the can up, I use the point of a sharp scissor and stab it into the can and then just use the scissors to cut up the can and around the top and bottom of the can. Be careful as the edges can curl and be sharp. You can wear gloves to do this to protect yourself as well. To make the edges cleaner, straight and symmetric you can use your guillotine cutter to cut it with no trouble. When die cutting the metal from the can, it is helpful to have a metal cutting plate, especially if the die is more detailed. You can use the colorful side of the pop/soda can or the silver side. There are some very beautifully colored cans out there and some even have embossing on them such as the Monster energy drinks. You can use acrylic paint and alcohol inks on the silver side as well to color them. If you have any questions, please message me on swap-bot as I will see that sooner than if you comment below. NOTE: The above picture is a MemoryDex I made for a previous swap. The butterfly was die cut from the pop/soda can and I used the silver metal side and then decorated with gems down the body.
