Description:

My birthday is in November and I always like to do some kind of swap party for it. This year, I want to swap paper/collage/mixed media goodies.

Before you read any further: this swap requires you send a certain weight and send particular types/styles of items. If you can't do that, don't join. It's my party and yadda, yadda, yadda.

The Nitty Gritty

  • Pack ONE envelope (Flat Rate or other) with AT LEAST 6 ounces of paper supplies suitable for collage mixed media art. This will be a fat, stuffed envelope.

  • The items you send must be fun, funky, bold, colorful, interesting. What does that mean, really? DO NOT SEND antique/Victorian styles, country cottage, shabby chic, farmhouse or brown/beige ephemera. Think more modern, contemporary or, at the very oldest, retro (70s/80s aesthetic). I’ve created a Pinterest board for some visual help with this. You can check it out here. Some items are finished art pieces, but I still think they convey the idea of what is wanted for this swap.

  • Also, DO NOT SEND: fabric, lace, trim, glitter packets, kid craft supplies (googly eyes, pipe cleaners, pom-poms, etc.) or non supplies like tea, candies, beauty products.

  • What CAN you send? Magazine/book images, stencils, stickers, labels, painted papers, textured papers, die-cuts, magazine patterns, decorative papers, wrapping papers, patterned tissue paper/napkins, well-done print outs, postcards, found photos, stamped images, quotes, found words, colorful ephemera...DO NOT SEND all one thing - that makes for a boring swap. Mix it up!

There is a LONG lead up time to this swap so you have plenty of time to gather stuff and ask any questions if you need to. This is sender's choice, as long as you stick to the above guidelines.

If you can print at home, I highly recommend using Pirate Ship to send packages like this. It’s very easy to use and the rates are good.

Participation Requirements

  • Completed 50 real-mail swaps.
  • Have at least 6 months active membership on the site. If you’re returning from a hiatus, and your last completed swap was more than 6 months ago, you will not be permitted to join this swap.
  • Have A FULL profile; more than a paragraph: something about you, plus interests, likes, swap related info - 10 years of impertinent life updates do not count.

I will use my best judgment in vetting participants and have every right to remove anyone, without warning. If you see a problem swapper, please message me. As with all my swaps, I will angel if the need arises, but only after the non-sender is rated properly.
