hi there! this is a snail mail swap for vegans (or anyone who wants to eat vegan dinners for 1 week)

vegans (contrary to popular belief) don't in fact live on lettuce and sunflower seeds!

the list of what vegans eat is a very, very long one!

so instead i'll list the things we DON'T eat.

we don't eat anything from any animal.

no meat (this includes chicken, fish and seafood), no dairy, no eggs and no honey.

with that out of the way - the idea is: everyone keeps a record of what they eat for dinner for 7 days in a row.

please include notes describing what you ate and whether you enjoyed it or not.

it would be nice to include at least some of the recipes. you don't have to send one for each night unless you want to. if you eat out every night then you wont have them to send!

photos would be fantastic but aren't required.

everyone will have only 1 partner. i think this allows everyone to spend a bit more time and energy on the swap.

non vegans are welcome to join if they can commit to a weeks worth of vegan dinners. you might be trying to lose weight, you might be a vegetarian who's looking to make the transition.

i hate this part, but....i'll be banning anyone with a rating average of less than 4.

Just to be clear, is this vegan dinners only? We're not eating entirely vegan for every meal, just dinner?

Also, are newbies allowed? :) I see a rating requirement and hopefully I won't still be a newb by this swap's sign up date but I thought I'd ask.

hello! oh i'm so happy someones interested! you can join for sure! it's hard when you're new, i know. if you have a well filled out profile people are more likely to give you a chance, i found.

and yes it's only dinners. i hoped this swap might encourage some non vegans to give it a go and it's gotta be less daunting to start with one meal a day. welcome pinknightmare! welcome!

p.s if you need some websites or blogs to look at for ideas i'm more than happy to make some suggestions. just let me know!

Yay! Thank you so much! I'm a vegetarian and I want to eat more vegan meals. I always work better if I have structure and someone to hold me accountable so using a swap like this will be a perfect foray. And yes, any links with recipes would be helpful. I'd like to finally try quinoa and/or seitan but I'd also like to try for "fresh, healthy" vegan, not "processed, junk-food vegan."

pinknightmare! do yourself a favour and try the seitan sausages on "everydaydish". it's an online vegan cooking show. very easy and very tasty

i'm pretty sure there's a quinoa recipe on "veganyumyum". the best looking vegan blog out there (in my opinion).
