What's In A Name?

Hello, lovely swappers!

Have you ever wondered where your name came from? Was it chosen because your parents loved it, because it belonged to a family member, or because it simply sounded nice? Perhaps your name has a fascinating meaning, an interesting language origin, or a story attached to it.

For this swap, you'll send one written and stamped postcard to your partner and tell them all about your name!

If you prefer, tell your partner why you chose your swapbot name; either reason will be enough to meet the swap requirement.

You could include:

• The meaning of your first name, surname, or both
• The language or culture your name comes from
• Why your parents chose it (if you know)
• Any family stories connected to your name
• Whether you like your name or would choose something different
• Any nicknames you've collected along the way

A little name trivia is always welcome too. Did you know that many surnames originally described a person's job, where they lived, or who their father was? Names can be tiny pieces of history that we carry around every day.

Swap requirements:

• One postcard
• Written, stamped and sent naked (no envelope)
• Store-bought postcard or professionally printed if it's your design, good quality please
• Include your username and the swap name somewhere on the card

This is the sender's choice, but taking a quick look at your partner's profile and choosing something they might enjoy is always a lovely touch.
