CC: Don’t Judge a Book by It’s TV Show

Watch the show, read the book, and send letter, postcard or notecard to your partner to discuss the differences between the book and the TV Show.

This can be done in any order or maybe you already have read the book but not the show (Or watched the show and not read the book). You also do not need to watch the entire TV series – especially if it is lengthy (think Game of Thrones or The Handmaid’s Tale).

Here are some prompts to consider when writing to your partner (you do not need to answer all):

• Which did you enjoy more – the book or the TV show? Why?
• Did the main characters look and act like you expected? Why or why not?
• Did the main setting look like you expected? Why or why not?
• Think about things that the TV show changed so that they were different from the book. What do you wish hadn’t been changed? What was better because of the change?
• What parts of the book did the TV show leave out? What was added to the TV show that was not in the book? Were these changes good or bad, and why?
