2 Samuel Chapter 7 (The Key Passage is 2 Samuel 7:16)

In the Garden of Eden, man made a choice to turn away from God. This is known as the Fall. Because of the Fall, we have death in the world. There was no physical death prior to it. We also have shame. Adam and Eve clothes themselves with fig leaves to hide from the Lord after they had sinned against Him. As a result of the Fall, things are not right in the world. Things are not as God designed and desired. When God put King David on the throne, a promise was revealed. It was a promise that God was establishing a throne that would endure forever. How is that? Because Jesus Himself would come from the line of David. Way back in 2 Samuel, God was working out a plan of restoration. Through Christ, we are reconciled with God. And one day God will once again make all things right in the world. Heaven will be even better than Eden!
