Bible passages to read and reflect on this week:

2 Kings Chapter 2 (The Key Passage is 2 Kings 2:11)

Elisha refused to leave Elijah until the very end. He had stuck to him like glue, a faithful friend. Perhaps he wanted to see Elijah taken up into heaven ton confirm and strengthen his own faith. Perhaps he just wanted to be with him as longs as he possibly could. What we do know is that he remained faithful. He refused to leave Elijah's side. When Elijah asked Elisha what he could do for him, the only desire Elisha expressed was to have a double portion of his spirit. He didn't want wealth or fame, only to be very well equipped to serve God. Think about your spiritual mentors. and your relationships with them. Do you desire to learn as much as you can and to serve God in an even greater way? Consider your loyalty and your motives. You will be blessed if they are pure before God!

How did Elijah go to Heaven?

Who had remained very close to Elijah until he was taken up into heaven?

Do you stand by and support your spiritual mentors, those who are teaching and preaching the gospel as Elisha supported Elijah?

Did you have any other thoughts or questions from your study this week? Share your thoughts!
