Description:

This is the 4th swap in this year long swap. Each month there will be a different "card of the month" theme.

THEME OF THE MONTH: PEACE

1)You can join one swap, two, or more its up to you, but when you do join, please follow through on the swap of the month that you are in.

2)You will be making 3 cards with envelopes to send to one (1) partner. You can decorate using any medium BUT stickers as the focal point. So stamping, painting, crafting, etc., but not "just" stickers.

3)Envelopes must match the card that you are sending (size wise).

4)The card theme for the month of JULY is PEACE - when you design your card do it as you feel the word, maybe send your partner a note and tell them how you felt the word for their cards.

What conjures up peace to you - it is a quiet walk in the park, is it angels, snow flakes falling, quiet - bring whatever your idea of Peace is to your cards this month.

5)Please leave cards blank so that the person you are sending to can personalize as they need to or want to. (No messages or sayings inside or out) You want to the cards to be able to be used for greeting cards or just note cards...let the person your sending to decide the use of the card.

6)OPTIONAL to decorate the envelopes, if you do please stay with something in the theme and decorate gently, and please make sure there is room for your partner to put an address and a return address and stamp so they can send if they choose to do so.

7)DO NOT stick stickers on the cards and call them done. NO stickers at all on the envelopes please.

8)Cards must be in good taste at all times.

9)Please rate your partner as per the requirements of the swap.

To participate:

1)Newbies are welcome with a completed profile. EVERYONE should have a completed profile.

2)All others must have NO no-sends for the last 3 months in their profile.

3)I do check profiles if anything is suspicious you will not be participating. If you think your chance is iffy please pm me before partners are given out. It is at that time I will be going through profiles.

4)If you have FLAKED on me OR a SWAP I have hosted PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP

5)Please mark your swap sent after you mail out AND please mail out by the deadline date. If you sign up I expect you to follow through, if you do not, you will be rated as such and may appear on my Swap-bot profile as FLAKED

Extras are up to you

If extras are given please give a heart to acknowledge, thanks!

REMINDER: 5's are given if you send out by the date the swap should be postmarked.

THEY ARE NOT to be used for the purpose of you did or did not like the send. Totally for if it arrives on the time frame. So if the deadline for send is July 27th they should be postmarked no later than that date.

3's are given for sends that arrive after the lower numbers appear on your swap-bot "rate your partner" form and for those sends mailed out late, the latter is up to you.

1's are given for no send at all.

Hearts are given to acknowledge extras. (I don't know if you can acknowledge extras after the lower numbers of 1 and 3 come out.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO RATE YOUR PARTNER. ALSO BEFORE RATING - if you have not received anything a)check to see if your partner mailed it out b)contact your partner c)please let me know

I've never done cards or scrapbooking before. . . in fact, I am a new member of Swap-Bot. I have this swap on my "watch" list. . . should I not join until I have more experience in card making?

I decided to go ahead & sign up. . . I'll have to go to the library to see if they have any cardmaking books so I can try my hand at these before the deadline to drop out. If my attempts look really awful I won't expect anyone to accept them. Especially after seeing some of the wonderful cards on-line.

Most definitely sign up and check flickr for ideas there are many wonderful card making sites on line, send me a note and i can send you a list, but yes do sign up...we would love to have you

I've tried a couple cards. . . and I'm not happy with the way they are turning out. Based on what I've seen from internet searches I am not even an amateur. I will have to drop out of this swap because I can not expect anyone to be happy with what I would send.

Guess I will be continue to practice until I get a handle on this.

The most important thing I've learned since making cards is KISS (keep it simple, Sylvia). Less is more.

Have been in a scrap club for years -- want to get more into card making ...

Love to join your group
