Postcard Swap - No Strings Attached #1

Launch gallery slideshow

Swap Coordinator:Dogluvr (contact)
Swap categories: Letters & Writing  Postcards
Number of people in swap:141
Type:Type 2: Flat mail
Last day to signup/drop:July 17, 2009
Date items must be sent by:July 31, 2009
Number of swap partners:3

This is a very basic postcard swap... it is sender's choice... the PC can be store bought or handmade (as long as it is made to the correct size). *No free/advertisement cards.. send something you would like to receive.

The whole point of this swap is to be a stress-free PC swap with no restrictions. This is for people who aren't extremely specific about what kind of PCs they want/collect or how they are sent, but rather for those who just want the fun of sending/receiving them.

Don't post in the comments section what kind of PCs you want or how you want them sent because I will delete the comments and if it persists I will remove you from the swap. This may seem a bit harsh but I've noticed there are 2 types of people who swap PCs on SB.. those who are very specific and those who just like to swap them in general to get some fun mail. There is nothing wrong with either group but for this swap, we are going with the fun of receiving mail without putting restrictions on our partners.

Swap details:

You will have 3 partners.. you will send each of them 1 postcard... so 3 postcards total that you will send and receive.

*No recent 1's or no-sends

*Rating of at least 4.5

This swap is open internationally so keep in mind you may be sending to partners overseas.

Thanks for setting this up!

avonlea 06/18/2009 #

IngridRijnen 06/18/2009 #

Good idea @Dogluvr ! Iร‚ยดm in ;-)

Pancua 06/20/2009 #

Yay! Thank you!!!

Tinker60 06/21/2009 #

Thank you for your 'non restrictions' on this swap. . . it is so frustrating (and I think rude) when I see a PC swap that is supposed to be a fun swap and then people start adding comments about what tey want and how they want to receive the PC even when the swap description has stated it is an 'anything goes' naked swap. . . folks that have certain preferences shoud either (1) not join an anything goes swap, or (2) host their own swap but shouldn't put their own specifics on someone ekse's swap.

I just love to send postcards and love to recieve in the post I feel I have been around the world, I have some lovely cards and pleased with them all, gonna watch and sign nearer date.

auburnite 06/22/2009 #

Thanks, @Dogluvr for very clearly stating your wishes for this swap!!

shellycarebear 06/22/2009 #

I'm in for sure!! I just love swaps where I dont have to worry about reading through the comments and trying to fulfill all of the requirements of what someone wants!! This is wonderful :)

Dogluvr 06/24/2009 #

I'm so glad you all like the swap and want to join!

A note to the new swappers =please read this= if you have no completed swaps, then you do not meet the 4.5 rating criteria for the swap. You have plenty of time if you are presently working on swaps to get some ratings in but please note that by the time partners are assigned you do need to have some completed swaps on your profile so that you meet the ratings requirement.

Thanks :)

Jananini 06/24/2009 #

I am going to the post-card shop right now!

RyeRye 06/25/2009 #

I'm with Tinker!

craftgasm 06/29/2009 #

Jananini -- there's such a thing as a postcard shop where you live?! I would be so jealous...

StephanieFromTN 06/29/2009 #

This is going to be so much fun! :) I really love to see that there are other people out there addicted to post cards, haha. My best pen pal ever gave me the link to this site. Alright for good pen pals!!!!

jacani 07/ 1/2009 #

Jananini~ where do you live? I want to run to the post card shop, too! :-)

homeandheart 07/ 1/2009 #

I am new, so are we to send them wriiten on, or blank? Thank you!

Angel 07/ 3/2009 #

Ive been collecting postcards since I was little, I dont know why people are so picky, I just love giving and recieving postcards. It takes all the fun out of swapping when people start to get picky:-)

Dogluvr 07/ 6/2009 #

homeandheart: you can write your partners a nice note and send them on. :)

Dogluvr 07/ 6/2009 #

I'm restating this again for the new swappers with no ratings as I'm seeing a number who have joined the swap. To participate in this one, you must have completed some other swaps with ratings on your profile by the time this swap starts on July 17th with an average of at least 4.5 or you will be removed from the swap per the rules listed above.

TexyDeb 07/ 7/2009 #

I love postcards!

rainbowdaze 07/ 7/2009 #

Are these supposed to be sent naked or in an envelope? I'm new to postcard swapping and am unsure of which we are supposed to do here? I don't mind sending either way, and I've already joined, I just want to be sure I do the right thing.

Dogluvr 07/ 7/2009 #

rainbowdaze: you can write your partners a nice note and send them on as-is

StephanieFromTN 07/11/2009 #

Moving to watchlist for the moment - but I'll be back :) (and yay! I finally got rated so I meet the requirements!)

jadedmama 07/12/2009 #

WOW. Lots of people in this one!! I need to find good postcards, anyone know any websites??

Dogluvr 07/12/2009 #

I was recently pointed here:

preslarb 07/14/2009 #

I like in a rural area with very few postcards available...sigh...but I'll be going to the big city soon to find one of those postcard shops!! HA!

Dogluvr 07/14/2009 #

I was recently also directed to my local hallmark store.. sometimes they have postcards.. if you have one of those when you go into the city you may be able to find some there or at the link I posted above to purchase some online.

Baxter 07/16/2009 #

I have my postcards ready to send them out. Anxiously awaiting........... lol

FairyCrafter 07/16/2009 #

I live in Florida where postcards are relatively easy to find, but to my surprise I found some really nice ones in our main grocery store!! I thought that was unusual even for touristy Florida. This time, mine are form the zoo.

Maggles45 07/17/2009 #

I have found postcards in grocery stores, wal-marts and the mini-marts where there are gas stations. I guess they cater to the tourists. LOL

Dogluvr 07/18/2009 #

Please note:

For those people that I have to remove prior to assigning partners, it was based solely on compliance with the above requirements. If you don't have ratings, then you don't meet the requirements. Please understand this is not personal, and I will definitely host another of these swaps in the near future.

Mesmereyes 07/30/2009 #

Well I did send all three of my postcards. Diana in England received hers but the other two here in the states have not said anything yet. I would like to say that if you did not receive a card from me, PLEASE let me know and I will resend.
