Description:

Let's make each of our 2 partners a PC that relates in some way to one of our own favourite Christmas carols or songs.

So pick a favourite carol /song (or two, if you wish to make each PC different - but this is not necessary) and design your Christmas PCs around some aspect of that carol/song. You may interpret this in any way you wish, e.g., use a particular line from the carol/song, an object mentioned in the carol/song, the overall theme of the carol/song, etc.

Include on the front of your PC the name of the carol/song that it represents.

Any material is acceptable.

I will be checking profiles to make sure everyone is a member in good standing of both SB and this group.

I have set an early send by date on this swap to avoid the holiday mail rush in hopes that we all receive our PCs before Christmas.

Have fun!

I will put this on my watchlist for now, because it's so far in the future.

I'm assuming that Christian caroles are acceptable?

TerryF 07/23/2009 #

Yes. That is why I specified "carols" OR "songs" - the "carols" are usually Christian and the songs are usually secular. Either is acceptable. (If anyone has an objection to receiving one or the other, please do not join this swap as it is sender's choice. Thx!)

Thank you TerryF. I do appreciate your careful description.

This sounds like fun! I have an additional question though - would Advent hymns be acceptable? They are technically not 'Christmas', but PRE-Christmas. I'm thinking of "O Come, O Come Emmanuel", actually. Not saying that I would for sure use that one, but that is what comes to my mind when I think of my favorite Christmas hymn/carol/song. But I am in, either way.

TerryF 10/16/2009 #

Yes, Advent hymns are included. Any songs or carols or hymns that we traditionally hear in December and that refer to Christmas in any way are fine. This includes "Santa" songs too.

I have advised my partners that I cannot mail their PCs until tomorrowe (November 17).

TerryF 11/27/2009 #

I don't expect there to be any problems with sending and receiving in this group, but if you don't receive your PC(s) and cannot work it out with your partner(s), please let me know. Thx!
