On my watch, I think this is a really really fun idea!

not only will it not be a surprise but some of us do not have these items available to us

What is an FQ?

I was kind of thinking that about the variety, 'cause if we all buy what's on the list, we'll be getting back pretty much what we just sent out.

I agree with dolcevita too. Maybe the list could be longer and we send out 6 items?

Maybe giving us just a color and saying we have to send x number of items in that color to a partner would add to the surprise element and better accommodate those of us with limited shopping avenues? Just a thought! Definitely watching. :)

FQ is a fat quarter of fabric. yeah I think more variety or choices would be nice with maybe just a few basic requirements Like choose 3 out of these 10 and then send 3 other items. How about something like that.

I think the way she has this is fine. Like a tea swap, you know you are getting back what you send but it'll be different. For ex: the orange buttons I pick out of my button collection won't be the same as some from someone else's. I do think sending dmc floss or regular thread is a good idea as floss can be hard to find. On my watchlist until the reqs get figured out. Thanks!

Forgot to say, maybe you could do 1 yd ribbon or yarn. That makes it a little more open too.

Can we make or embellish the notecards? I can see maybe being able to substitute something for people who can't find DMC, but I honestly love the simplicity of this swap. There are many shades of orange, and a ton of button and notecard choices, not to mention fabric. I doubt any 2 packages will be the same!!!

what is DMC floss ?? I speak spanish and dont the the meaning of that.

Thanks for all the comments, I will take them to advice when I set up the next one. I think it would be fine if you did not have DMC you can use thread instead. So join in and lets have some fun swapping.

DMC floss is a brand name of embroidery thread, hope it helps!
