Altered Book Swap

I am in and want Religion (virgin Mary/virgin of guadalupe) or gothic.

Hey, I've made some of these and I had good luck using children's board books. Very sturdy and for 8 pages you probably wouldn't need to rip any out.

Me I would love to get a book Gothic or Wisdom theme. :)

I love altered books and have also done the children's board books that work great....a little sanding on the glossy pages and you're ready to paint, stamp and paste! I would like Birds, Romance or Wisdom.

elizabeth4510: Yes its a long send date, but you can send yours anytime after you get your name, where its a whole book some people need more time, between work and home time may be an issue for some. Thats why the extended send date.

So let me get this straight--we are altering a book to send to someone else in a theme of their preference if possible? So it can be a fairly thick book, and the 8 pages we do will begin the alteration then, that the recipient can finish as desired(perhaps in another AB Round Robin or something?)OR it can be a small book like a board book, all altered and complete?

ok :) Get a book,one already made, not to big,suggested 4 pages, eight if you count both sides, but you can pick a bigger one if you like, look at the posts and see what theme your partner likes and alter the book to that theme. The whole book, and send it to them :) So your partner gets one fully altered book. Hope that makes it a bit more clear, :) Happy Swapping.

Hi, I am excited about this swap..I would prefer a book with a fantasy theme-dragons, unicorns, faeries, wizardry/witchery, imaginary creaturs etc; or if you feel like fantasy isn't really something you want to make, I am also interested in mythologies, oceanic scenes, felines and canines-preferably wild as opposed to domestic. If these aren't suitable please feel free to let me know if you want more suggestions or if you would like to just create something of your own whim that would be fine too. :)

Wisdom will work for me. I love short and positive quotes. That brighten and add wisdom to someone's day. Also color love color (gold, turquoise, orange, hot pink, and plum).

I think it's shameful and completely unforgivable that my altered book recipient couldn't be bothered to acknowledge receipt of my work, nor could the swap hostess take the time to respond to my message about my partner's lack of response. The recipient never answered any of my emails in which I tried to find out what theme she preferred, nor did she say "Thank you" when she got it. And yes, I know she got it because I sent it Priority with a confirmation. This swap is the one that has ruined Swap-Bot for me permanently.

This swap didn't turn out so well for me either. My partner marked sent along time ago, but nothing has showed up. When I went to send her a message I found that she had deleted her profile. She also owed me a chunky book from another swap. I put alot of effort into both of the books I made and won't be getting anything in return for either of them
