This swap is for all you beginner quilt makers who want to get their feet wet.

The block for December is the Shoo Fly.

http://www.quilterscache.com/S/ShooFlyBlock.html

You will make one block and have one partner.

It is senders choice for the colors. Make sure you use two contrasting colors. Like dark blue and white or light pink and dark red. Please no NOVELTY fabrics. Novelties are Easter prints, kid prints, food prints, animal prints, etc. You can use floral prints and geometric prints. Just nothing that reads children blocks. Only use two fabrics.

Please try your very best to use a scant 1/4 inch seam allowance when constructing your blocks. The finished block should measure 12 1/2 inches when it is complete.

To make it easier for newbies, after you cut out your squares use a disappearing ink marker to draw your seam allowance. Then sew just next to the line, not on top of it. This will make it easier to learn the scant seam allowance. Please pm me with any questions. You can also measure from your needle over 1/4 of an inch and use masking tape as a guide.

Newbies are welcome. Please fill out your profile. Everyone has to start some where. Experienced swapper with a 4.6 or higher may join to. I will be checking profiles. Please no recent bad ratings. You have to be 30 days free of bad ratings.

Thank you. I can't figure out how to do clickable links on here.

Thiis image shows how to post an active link:

This one shows how to post a picture: (first make sure your picture is no larger than 4x6" at 72 dpi resolution)

LOL--if I got those right you should see two useful pics of how you type in the code to make a link active, or to post a picture that you have hosted in a photo site like Photobucket, ImageShack, or Fotki.com--they provide the necessary URL once you create and upload the picture there.

The active link code will result in this:

I used the codes above for posting a pic to post both of those pics.

just a heads up to whoever is sending to or receiving from @katiebarc she did not send anything in the last swap 'Fabricmom's Beginners 12 inch Quilt Block swap, I sent to her and received no rating. She has not been on this site since 12/1 , she is someone who gives Newbies a bad name
