Description:

For this swap you will create your version of the goddess and you will do it by decorating a paper doll like the one in the picture.

Go to this page for the template:

http://www.theenchantedgallery.com/paperdolls.html

The page also has some intructions and ideas as to how you might decorate and what sort of material to use. But do use your imagination and make the doll your vision of the goddess.

You will have one partner and send one doll. Make sure your goddess doll is printed on sturdy, thick paper of a good quality.

Please remember when rating that people have different artistic skills and different views of the goddess. So please rate fairly with this in mind.

Other than that all I ask is that you do your best with the doll and have a good time with it.

NB: It would be really cool if you would sign your name on the back of the doll. I plan to host more of these and it would be a fun collection to have them from lots of different people with a signature on the back :-) I have had the suggestion that we use ATC labeling standards and this seems like a good idea, or at least we can do a variation on it. So please label like this:

Title: (Swap name)

Date:

Artist (real name):

Witchname: (if you have one)

I can't believe this finally came up! I've been waiting for one of these for ages. It seemed like everytime I discovered a goddess swap there was some reason I couldn't do it. I'm so exicted I wish I could have joined up twice! Thanks for this one. Is there a size requirement?

@celticblue The doll should be the size of the template in the link. And you may get your wish to sign up more than once, as I plan to host more of these with different themes if this one is a success.

This is a great idea! I often worry about being late on stuff due to my health, but I think this will be ok because its a paper craft and should only take a small amount of time compared to the other crazy stuff I come up with! LOL :-) I'd also like to add that if there's going to be more of these in the future that we might want to use the ATC labeling standards instead of just a signature, but its only a suggestion! :-)

Morgaine 02/ 9/2010 #

@muincat I have no idea what ATC labeling standards are, as I've never done any ATC's ;-) Could you explain?

the bought artist trading card back stamps usually have: Title: Date: Number (if it is in a series) Artist: For: (swap title and/or group name) hope this helps

SylvanaWolfspaw 02/10/2010 #

Oh! That's a good idea!

Morgaine 02/10/2010 #

I sure wish we had more than just one partner. I would luv making more - even if they turn out to be the same kind. Then I would also recive several different kind - in art styles I might not even had thought off. :D :D :D

Creative, while there is part of me that would love multiple swap partners on this, I'm really pleased that we have just one--it feels like a nice meditative/contemplative exercise with just the one.

In the future, I too would be interested in perhaps 2 or 3 partner swaps for these as well. And the themes are endless, perhaps a "Help" Goddess Paper Doll who addresses a specific need for either the giver or the sender--so many very lovely possibilities for this!

Morgaine 02/11/2010 #

There will only be one swap partner. For those who want to make more I suggest you make 2 and keep one of your own for yourself :-) That would be kindda cool for the collection as well ;-)

My plan is to host one of these each month starting at the beginning of every month. I have talked to SylvanaWolfspaw about ideas and between us we already have ideas for 16 themes for goddess dolls. She may be hosting some of them as well. So there will be more than enough to keep all you goddess doll lovers happy ;-)

the send by date isn't until March 8th. But the 13th is an awesome day to make it. 13 is an excellent number.

Morgaine 02/12/2010 #

@ImNotMessyImCreative like Aayla just said the 14th is the last day to sign up for this swap and not the last day to send it out ;-)
