Description:

"Though this be madness, yet there is method in 't." - William Shakespeare, Hamlet (II, ii, 206)

I love quote swaps and postcard swaps, so I thought I'd try something a little more specific, a little more literary. Shakespeare has written so many plays and poems, with quotable lines that are funny, romantic, inspiring, and tragic. His plays and sonnets are chock full of words and phrases that he specifically invented - another reason his works have had so much impact on contemporary culture.

For this swap:

  • Select your favorite Shakespearean quote(s) - this could be lines from a play or poem
  • Send one postcard to 3 partners (1 x 3 = 3 postcards total)
  • You can choose the same quote or different quotes for each card
  • The postcard does not have to be relevant to the quote or swap; handmade or store bought are fine

Please make sure you put the source of your quote, too, like "Romeo and Juliet" or "Sonnet XII" or whatever. If it's from a play, you should include the speaker/character as well (e.g. Macbeth, Ophelia, Romeo, etc.)

  • Newbies are welcome, as long as you have a completed profile, no 1's or recent flakes. I will ban you if your profile/ratings are suspect. I am also willing to angel if things go really wrong. This is my first time hosting, so I hope everyone does the right thing!
