Great swap! What a new and fresh idea for this site. Can't wait to start making some peace atc's : )

Thanks so much for starting this swap. I am sorta new still, and really wanted to see a swap that shares the message. I am all for ending this illegal war! Let's share the peace and love. Power to the Peaceful!

Shopandbid, Mandibeads did expect different opinions to be stated, its a hot topic, of course, everyone wants to add their two cents. However, if you read the description of the swap she says; "Please don't use the swap thread to debate the war itself." This is a peace swap, war debates are not needed in this swap, take it to the forum, please.

This country has been one of the most successful experiments in democracy yet. Our constitution is a true work of art. Peaceful protest is one of the greatest ways of showing true patriotism (an understanding and support of this Republic's ideals); so we are just doing what every American should feel comfortable doing. Since the experiment is in danger because of this administration's carelessness (with the accent on CARE-LESS), the more people who raise their voices in protest, the better.

Connecticut, huh? I knew he had a DUI conviction in my state of Maine, but I thought he was an "all hat and no cattle" TX cowboy...the picture is getting clearer--NOT!!!

Oops, I'll stop--and save it for my ATCs! Except to say I feel a little helpless when I write and call my senators, too (and I do write and call them). Keep chipping away, we see more every day.

I found a magazine with some great shots of Bush, and I think one of them will be perfect for the ATC I have in mind :)

Anyone else have some ideas brewing?

I am going with Michael Franti! He is so awesome, most of his lyrics are about peace and the war. He is kinda hip hoppy but not too heavy. Check out his song 'Time to go home', it is a very powerful jam!

Our local paper has a great columnist--he doesn't follow any party line, just calls it like he sees it. I think I'll collage some of his quotes...we'll see.

storylaura your cards are on the way! This was a great way to channel energy--THANK YOU mandibeads for hosting this swap! I saw my (state) Rep. in the grocery store today, and told him about it--I had just dropped the envelope in the mailbox--and he was awed that folks are doing stuff like this. I told him I would send him some peace ATCs and he could pass them on to Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe. That way, in order to ignore me, they would have to actually throw something away...sigh. I think I'll go write another poem. TTFN
