Description:

Whenever I am in a new place, even if it is just a small town I am passing through, I can’t help but looking around for interesting photo opportunities. Even in my hometown, I am constantly stopping to snap a photo or two. Sometimes it is an old building that catches my eye, other times it is a well known attraction or even a funny sign. Regardless of where you are, there is always a great picture waiting to be taken.

For this swap you will be taking five photographs from one town/city. You can take them from the place you live or a place you are visiting, but they all MUST be taken by yourself. You will then attach each photo to a postcard size (approx. 4 x 6 inch) cardstock and write a description of the photo as well as the city it was taken in. No purchased/free cards or photos for this swap…I want to see YOUR view. As these are all going to one partner (five different cards total), you may send them all in one envelope, but feel free to send them individually. Remember, this is a POSTCARD swap so don’t just send five photos in an envelope.

The nitty gritty:

~INTERNATIONAL partners welcome.

~Rating of 4 or greater.

~Five different cards to one partner.

~Postcards must be made from photos you have taken.

~I will be checking each profile as well as the questionable swapper list and doing my banning before I assign partners. Also, if you are a known flaker, you will be banned.

If anyone has any questions, please let me know.

Have fun!

I have some Avery postcard paper that is 5 1/2" x 4 1/4", would that be okay to use?

sweet1 09/ 7/2007 #

That would be fine!

I have my 5 photos and I printed them on the postcard paper. I am also sending an extra 4 of old shots of the town that I have come across.

Oh one more peskie wuestion, should we write on the postcard what the picture is off or are we leaving them blank?

Sorry to be such a pest.

Yes, please tell your partner what the photo is and where it was taken. This is a good chance to learn about a new place.

What's the best way to attach the photos to the cardstock? Gluestick? Can we just print onto the cardstock? I have some heavyduty photo paper too, not the flimsy stuff. I'm just worried about the photo separating from the cardstock.

I just used tacky glue on heavy scrapbook paper, but it can warp. I had to press my cards between heavy books before the glue dried. I wasn't thrilled using it, but it worked. In the past I used spray adhesive, but it was so messy I had fuzz stuck to my hand for days :P

I am not sure of the best way to do it, but I know glue sticks are not the way to go...I have had photos come off the card stock when using them.

I would love to hear what other people do.

I will be mailing mine out tomorrow to Cathy. I printed my photos right onto the postcard paper. I hope that was okay.

I'm glad you liked them. Winter, WI is a special place for me. All the women in my family spend a week there every summer...My great aunts, cousins, sisters, mom - No boys allowed.

Did the cards hold up? As I mentioned above, I had some issues with the tacky glue.
