Description:

EDIT: I will not go ahead with this swap unless a minimum of 5 people sign up for it.

I copied this swap with most of the original text from CajunLady from the USA and Canada only version she is running in the group Crafty Witches. I thought we could have a European version :-) I did make some modifications to the text, so read carefully ;-)

Samhain is the Pagan holiday for the Celtic New Year and is the 3rd and final holiday that marks the end of the harvest season. It is also a time to honor those who have passed on the year before. For this swap, you will have one partner. You will send you partner items to help celebrate Samhain. It can be altar items, herbs, incense, spell items, a ritual, etc etc.

Please follow the correspondence list of Samhain items as to what you will send or look in books or on the internet to ideas for Samhain related items. If you have any allergies, please list them in the comment section.

Please make this a nice size swap that you are proud of and that you would enjoy recieving yourself. I wont set a price minimum for this as I know many people have a nice stock of supplies they can dig into and therefore might not have any idea of what the cost originally was. Please make sure everything you send is in good as new condition.

No price minimum, but how about an items minimum. I would say we go with a witch theme and go with the number 13. Your box should have at least 13 items in it. No need for big or heavy items, just make sure every item is special and significant to Samhain in some way.

Also: the swap states a Samhain box. This is meant as the box you ship your items in, aka a plain old boring postage box. If you want to create a nice Samhain themed storage box to hold your swap items please do so. This themed box will count as 1 of the 13 items.

I highly encourage people to include some handmade items, or all handmade if you are so inspired. A handmade item could be something as little as a spell or ritual on a nice piece of paper that you have hand decorated yourself. Or it could be something as big and timeconsuming as the Samhain themed storage box I mentioned above.

Samhain correspondence list OR ideas of things that you can send (please keep in mind your partner's requests/allergies): gourds, black cats, apples, besoms, jack o lanterns or pumpkins, cauldron, waning moon, Samhain recipes, black stones , harvest incense, witches, bats, autumn leaves, altar cloths in black and/or orange, candles, esp. black and orange, Crone Goddess images, anything that can be used for scrying or divination.

Also any kinds of fall vegetation:leaves-wheat stalks-gourds-dried corn stalks, etc plant cuttings.

Herbs: Acorn, Oak, Apple, Arborvitae, Corn, Dittany of Crete, Fumitory, Hazel, Mullein, Nightshade, Pumpkin, Sage, Turnip, Wormwood.

Interpret these as you wish, the first part of the list especially gives plenty of themes that can be turned into something handmade.

This is not profile reltated, so feel free to start creating and gathering right away. But perhaps hold of on the incense, herbs and natural items until you have a list of your partners allergies.

13 items people, get started :-)

please no incense sticks for me. I've quite sensitive eyes and most of them make them itch... other incense (natural mixes) is more than fine though. :)

I am very sensitive to smell, so I'm gonna ask that people don't send me strongly scented stuff like incense, oils and especially scented candles.
