thanks! My local craft group is participating in this, so I figured, why not share the knowledge of it with my 'other' crafty friends!! :)

Um....so how exactly does this work as far as a swap goes? What are we sending to our partners?

I think this is a great idea!!! I am wondering the same thing @GoingTwinsane . How will this work? Do we take pictures and send to our partner and then send the butterflies to the museum? How many butterflies are we expected to make to complete this swap? I'm kinda confused right now....can you tell? lol

By putting a number of partners in your info, won't swap bot automatically assign partners? this makes it confusing. perhaps you should make it one partner and have us send a butterfly to our assigned partner and ALSO send butterflies to the museum seperately, that way it makes it a partner swap and we can send our charity butterflies to the museum also. Hope that makes sense.

Just a suggestion as I see others wondring how the swap comes into it ... ... ... for other charity type swaps usually we make / craft / purchase what ever is needed and send that straight to the charity. Then to our partners we would send pictures of our creation as well as a letter telling them about why we chose this swap - what it means to us - how we created, etc. Hope that helps :0)

I guess it made sense in my head, but with sb assigned partners is where it kinda was confusing to me. @browniemommie - I think that idea of sending only photo to your sb partner is what I'm reallly looking towards since I was trying to get ALL the butterflies made for this swap to the museum. So should I change it to make onlly 1 butterfly + send photo of your 1 butterfly to partner + send actual butterfly to museum with info they requested ?

If we wanted to send a butterfly (not just a photo) to our partner can we?? I mean, I will be making more than one or two or three for the museum, but it wouldnt take anything away from the museum to make one for my partner would it?

@ncfriend if you would like to send your partner one as well, that is fine, but that would be up to you, not a requirement for the swap.

I think that would work fine @leecytx Make a butterfly, take a pic of it, send the pic to your partner (snail or email?) and snail mail the butterfly to the museum.

What an awesome project and how wonderful of you to share. I'll watch the swap and I hope there is great success. I have downloaded the forms and will gather many family and friends together for this project. I did this last year. It's a great project.

I did this last year. the women of my church also participated. We sent 5 butterflies. I have been wanting to do more. I am so glad to see this swap. Everyone should go to the webpage and read the poem

Must the butterfly be made of paper or can it be other material?

butterfly can be made out of anything except things listed above & must be no bigger than the size requirement listed above as well. (sorry for delay on replying @cfchai
