Description:

I've been creating "mail art" for years, since before I knew it was called mail art. I love the idea of something arriving for you thats just so different from everything else - full of creativity and inspiration!

This swap is for those of us who want to receive something different besides bills and boring envelopes!

Send something to inspire your partner... anything you can think of, be it a postcard or notecard you've made with an inspiring quote on it, a small envelpe of ephemera, a letter about your creative process in a highly decorated envelope.

I don't just mean throw some stickers on it and mail it off. Make your entire envelope and inside of it a work of art.

I was inspired by a book that I found recently called "Good Mail Day: A Primer for Making Eye-Popping Postal Art", and I'm in love with it. They also have a blog that you can check out for more inspiration: http://goodmailday.wordpress.com

Make your mail a piece of art, and send it off to one lucky partner! This is an international swap, participants must have no recent and/or unexplained 1s, and must have a rating of 4.8 to participate. Newbies are welcome but only with a well filled-out profile. I will be checking profiles, and reserve the right to ban anyone I find suspicious. Lets all have a good mail day!

"Good Mail Day" is an awesome and inspiring book! I love mail art and pretty much all of my swaps are sent in decorated envies/packages! Soooo glad there is a swap specifically for true "mail art"!!! I am soo in!

This sounds like fun but I will be on vacation and unable to make something and send it on time. I will watch for more of these.

@moowee I think if its successful, I'll host a series of them! :D

Same as moowee, I'll be away, so I hope you'll repeat this swap soon.

@papercrafter LOL. Good stuff!

I hope everyone is working like a busy bee now! I've completed my envelope tonight after a few hours of colouring, drawing, pasting, etc... now what on earth do I put in it!? Must put my thinking cap on!

I sent it off but I am really nervous if if will ever arrive, LOL! The address was not exactly jumping out by the first look!

Hey guys, I'm archiving this swap since I have sent AND received mine. I will keep checking in to make sure all is well though.

If you haven't received your mail art in an acceptable time frame (keep in mind its an international swap!), please try to contact your partner to see whats up. If they've totally flaked, drop me a line. I'll angel if needed, but only after appropriate steps are taken to contact your sender! <3
