Description:

Time for a little bit of creativi-tea!

I saw something like this a long time ago at my local craft markets, and was all "ZOMG! WANT!" all over it ^.^ I didn't think of it at the time, but they are so easy to make!

The simplest way is to grab one of those cute little organza gift baggies and snip off the top part (where the ribbon is for tying) then fold the corners in a little, and the top down and fix with a brad, button, bead or whatever you please (a staple would even work, though maybe not as pretty!) then add your string and tag, and voila! A tea baggie of awesomeness!

So, for this swap, you will make ONE partner ONE little organza tea bag, and fill it with sweet little crafty goodies (not just stickers!). Have a look at your partner's profile and see if there's any fun little things you can include in the baggie that you know they will love ^.^

There are so many things you can put in them, and while I am leaving it up to your creative minds to decide how you will spoil your partner, I will stipulate that there needs to be a little bit of variety (i.e. not just beads, or just sequins, but a mix of a few different things!)

In case you are stuck for ideas, here's a little list of potentials! ...

  • beads
  • sequins
  • buttons
  • brads
  • flatbacked jewels/gems
  • felt/fabric flowers
  • ribbon
  • charms

And DO consider making things too!

  • teeny tiny stuffies
  • handmade fabric/paper flowers
  • itty bitty origamis
  • a tiny book

EDITED TO ADD : If you are unable to get old of the organza bags, you are certainly welcome to make your own tea bags (bear in mind the minimum size) from a similar fabric!

This is sender's choice, but as I said, do have a look at your partners profile to see if there's anything awesome you can include, and to make sure you don't send anything they wouldn't love ^.^

The Nitty-Gritties :

  • There is 2 weeks to sign up, and 2 more until send date.

  • Use any size bag you would like, but with the minimum size being the small 65 x 90mm baggies (or make it as large as you wish).

  • If anyone has any dramas with anything in the swap, please let me know - I am very flexible :)

  • Open to Aus and NZ participants.

  • All of the CQ rules apply (see the group's front page).

Am I right in assuming that you cannot send tea between our great lands?

Christie1981 10/18/2010 #

yeh ... sucky isn't it :(

I don't know if we can send tea to NZ from Aus, but I do know that you can't receive tea in Aus from anywhere x.x

Thanks, I was just making sure. Who'd have thought one little teabag could be so threatening and powerful :)

haha, indeed!

You can get tea sent to Australia just not # tea containing seeds, fruit skin (for example citrus and apple peel) and fruit pieces

see here

See, that's what I thought too, but I was concerned about the bit where they say dried leaves are not ok - which is what tea is - so I check with my PO and they said no ... but, they are kind of useless, so I would not be surprised if they were wrong!
