Do you love Cross Stitch?

Then this is the swap for you!

1) Make 2 cross stitch designs with design areas no smaller than approx. 2.5 X 3.5cm and no larger than 3.5 X 5.5cm, sending them both to your 1 partner.

2) No frames or attaching it to anything, but embellishment with beads or buttons is okay. It's just the cross stitch.

3) Extras are not called for or expected, but if you wish to send an extra please just send one additional cross stitch, one floss, a pattern or a pack of needles. Let's keep it simple and stick to the craft at hand.

4) This MONTHLY SWAP(when you are available to participate) is the sender’s choice, NO THEMES, Cross Stitch can take a bit of time. You might need to start these little treasures right away, so get right to it and you'll have them out in plenty of time. Enjoy letting your creative juices flow!

5) Send a nice note with your cross stitch, as that's such an enjoyable part of swapping. Please be sure to include the name of this swap and your Swap-bot ID.

Participant Screening:

Must be able to cross stitch.

Must have a fully completed profile (not just a few lines).

Must have completed 3 swaps, have a 4.9+ status and no unexplained 1 or 3’s. Newbies will be accepted upon the hostess's review.

I will list all flakes and will angel, but I trust that won’t be necessary.

Would it be OK to stitch on a finished item such as those lace-finished bookmarks?

lepapillonvert 03/30/2011 #

Sure that sounds pretty. Go for it.

Sunflower107 03/30/2011 #

Is there a specific size requirement?

lepapillonvert 03/31/2011 #

No I didn't make a size requirement, because some people like to work on small quick things and others on medium or larger pieces. But if I was sending a little/mini 1 or 2 inch design I'd probably send two little ones.

Some folks may even have some really pretty larger pieces tucked away that they'd like to pass along and share with someone.

However, all work must be in like good as new condition and not exposed to any sun or dust.

lepapillonvert 03/31/2011 #

People who make ATCs like to use the 1-2 inch little designs on their ATCs. I find that I one can probably not make a new design any larger than 4 X 6 in the time they might have to complete the swap. However, like I said above people might have really pretty work that they have packed away because they never knew would to share it with or what to do with it. Some folks might have several finished pieces with no home to go to. Who knows. It's just about sharing the joy of cross stitch. Happy Stitching!

@Net 3811, I now have to say no attaching lace as the swap has now been edited to include a size and requires it to be just the finished cross stitch design and nothing else.

I want to clear how many partners have to be in this swap - 2 or 1? In point 1 you mentioned 2 cross stitch designs which have to be send to each partner, - so how many partners?

lepapillonvert 04/12/2011 #

Good Point Antonia. Sorry for the mistake. Partner, but two designs.

lepapillonvert 04/12/2011 #

1 Partner, But 2 designs.

lepapillonvert 04/12/2011 #

Why does that 1 just not want to work?

lepapillonvert 04/16/2011 #

I say this is a monthly swap, but all that means is that I will be running it each month. If you are available to participate it is here for you to do so. I like to run monthly swaps as then people can count on them and enjoy trading that craft. I feel that fosters a sense on community and something to count on. Cheers, LPV
