Description:

I might be the only one here cooking period, but there's only one way to find out. ;-)

Here's a way to stretch your knowledge of a period in history, learn something new, and eat the results!

In this swap you will go to the library (public or private) and find anything on the Roman chef, Apicius. Considered one of the oldest cookbooks out there, Apicius gathered together contemporary recipes, grouped them just like we do, and happily, his work survives to this day.

You'll then pick a recipe to cook and explain why this was your choice. Did it look easier than most? Were the ingredients familiar enough? Did it read like something you would eat?

And then you'll cook it. Extra points if you take pictures of the process! =D

Finally, you'll tell your partner all about it. How it went in cooking, i.e. was the method sound? What you would change if you made it again... would you make it again? lol What was the hardest thing about it, what as the easiest? How many did it serve? What did you serve along with it?

All of your impressions, from finding a book, to looking for the perfect recipe, to cleaning up the dishes is what you'll be sending your partner.

If you have any questions, comments or complaints, PM me. =D
