Description:

This is a simple postcard swap in remembrance of September 11,2001 in honor of the upcoming 10th anniversary. You will send one PC to 2 partners. It would be wonderful for the postcards to be New York themed (handmade is great or store bought) but i will not make the theme a requirement because i want as much participation as possible. on the PC please share a memory from that tragic event. Where you were, how you heard, if you knew anyone involved. If a PC is not enough space, you may send a letter IN ADDITION TO the naked pc that is the swap requirement. Newbies allowed with well filled out profiles. Experienced swappers must have a 4.90. Anyone i feel Leary about will be dropped. I will angel if necessary but i hope no one is that heartless.

So, 1 pc each to 2 partners.

My husband was at the wtc when they blew up. So I am very lucky to have him still in my life. And I had a couple of friends working at the pentagon and were there that day when the plan crashed into that.

I'm watching for now. my daughters and I were there a few days before getting school supplies. My bro-in-law (ex NYPD) was a volunteer first responder.

This is a great idea. I live in North Jersey and was only in 4th grade at the time of the attack, but I can still remember seeing the smoke fill the sky

My life changed profoundly & irrevocably as a result of 9/11 and I was here in my own country of Australia. I was due to fly back to my American BF (now husband, although 9/11 indirectly contributed to our break-up of 6 years)... my flight was for the 12th (US time) and I was packing as I saw it all play out on my TV. Flights were all cancelled immediately. Thing is: that wasn't even the most of what happened. I might have to write an accompanying letter... Thanks for this swap. I never, ever forget.

I was in New York that day and it was honestly one of the scariest days of my life. I'm looking forward to sharing both the naked postcard and a letter for this one. It's something that I think about regularly.
