Description:

Most of us have boxes or albums of old photos from our childhood or even earlier, like photos of our parents' or even our grandparents' generations.

Scan an old photo (or two if you like) and incorporate it (them) into a handmade Christmas card for each of your partners. Include an appropriate size matching envelope, handmade or purchased.

These are cards that your partner will use to send to someone else. No religious themes please, and no text of any kind on the inside of the card. Text on the front of the card is sender's choice.

Along with each card, include a separate note to your partner telling them what you know about the photo(s) you used.

Please make sure the cards are packaged so that they arrive in pristine condition.

If you have any questions, please pm me as I do not check my swaps every day. Thx.

"No religious themes please" and its a christmas card? ahem! How should that work?

Fatherted 09/ 2/2011 #

dont want to sound pissy or something, maybe if no religious theme is allowed you could call it: "winter greeting cards" or something like that?

I have responded to this type of comment before - this is from a swap I hosted last year:

Christmas is religious. We celebrate the birth of Christ. So whoever takes part in a swap called Christmas greetings should expect to get a religious card.

While you are technically correct, in the 21st century Christmas has come to have many meanings, not just that particular one. As long as it represents love and kindness and generosity towards all, I think that is more important than any particular religious connotation. And, while you are certainly entitled to your religious opinion, this is my swap so I can describe it any way I want. Oh, and by the way, I am a Christian. I just don't like making those of other faiths feel excluded from this wonderful celebration. Thx for the opportunity to make my position known. (";)

Thanks for answering. So a text on the front like "Happy Celebration" or "Merry Christmas" would be okay?

Yes.

No Religious Please. And kudos for you reply to the email from last year.
