IF I could get a hold of that THING

This is the third in the series of IF-prompts.

For this swap you will WRITE A PROMT – AT LEAST ONE PAGE LONG - about a certain item (more details below). You will have 2 PARTNERS. You may include photos and copies of documents if you wish.

Your prompt is probably going to be some story related to a certain thing that you once possessed, then lost or gave away, or a thing you created for someone and gave it as a present, or some gift you got, or something you were so close to getting a hold of but never did… It can be about a toy from your childhood, a photo, a journal / a letter / a postcard / a poem you wrote / read or someone has sent to you a long time ago, a piece of jewelry you lost walking in the woods, a piece of clothing you wore out so much you had to toss it away, a book with a special note that you had lend to your friend and never got back, a piece of china you smashed just the other week etc. an item that had some sentimental value / provoked certain pleasant or unpleasant feelings within you / and is now someplace else or simply gone.

For instance, write about how you got a hold of it in the first place, what was special about it, incidents linked to it, what (you think) happened to it, whether you would like to find it / buy it again and how you would feel about it... This can be a story about loss, about gains, about sad or cheerful experiences/events.

You may not want to reveal names of persons this story relates to - change them then.

You may hand-write or type, but note that you have 2 partners to send to.

There is 2 weeks’ time to send the story after partners are assigned.
