I love to read. I'm getting back into crafting and want to try some new ones.
I listen to a variety of music. I grew up listening to oldies with my parents (like 50s, 60s and 70s), so that's my comfort music. If I had to pick one favorite, it would be U2.
As I said above, I read a lot! I'll read just about anything, and it's so hard for me to pick favorites! I particularly enjoy mysteries and historical fiction. I'll always read a new book by Ann Patchett, Curtis Sittenfeld, or Emily Henry. I enjoy nonfiction. I used to be a children's librarian and still read kids books. Older things I love: Paddington, Pooh, L.M. Montgomery, the Betsy-Tacy books...newer favorites: Kevin Henkes, The Penderwicks, but these are just a few...the list could go on and on! I collect books from the older children's series the Happy Hollisters.
Love any kind of travel book or book set in another country. I always enjoy hearing about what other people are reading.
Some faves include: Goonies, Serendipity, Bringing Up Baby, The Holiday
pretty eclectic - Madam Secretary, Bridgerton, Ted Lasso are a few faves
I enjoy making ATCs. I like papercrafts, but I don't do a lot of scrapbooking. I do love all the embellishments available though! I keep saying that someday I'm going to learn how to crochet, but it hasn't happened yet...I've also been playing around with watercolors.
My style is a mix... my house = Crate & Barrel/Pottery Barn + shabby chic + antiques (pieces from family) and flea market finds.
Things I Love:
*traveling, and things from other countries and cultures
*black and white photos, especially of buildings and landscapes
*toile!
*maps
*Extra Fine Point Sharpie markers are my favorite - I use them to write everything. I also love Papermate Flairs and InkJoy.
*ribbon, especially grosgrain
*all things Christmas, especially snowmen
*quotations
*vintage things - fabric, papers, photos, decorations, etc. I love using things like mason jars and tin cups for storing things likes pens and pencils. I love things that are unique and/or have a history.
*favorite colors - all shades of blue, apple green, pink - I only like purple in small doses.
*I prefer dogs to cats.
*Mary Englebreit & Snoopy & cute kawaii foods & Rilakkuma
*collages & ATCs
*prints, like paisleys and plaid
*I love all kinds of notepads - I love making lists!
*bookmarks (I can never have too many!) and all things bookish
*odd scraps of lace or eyelet
*Through Swapbot, I've been reminded of how fun it is to get a postcard in the mail! (And how quick and easy they are to send.) Just the act of getting it in the mail is fun, but favorite things are: mountains, beaches, churches, flowers, gardens (especially if they are from where you are), vintage, and paintings (like from museums). If you need something to write on one, some ideas: a book recommendation or what you're currently reading, a kid-friendly joke, a song you have on repeat, what you're currently obsessed with, a favorite Bible verse...any kind of message is always nice!
*I don't have a lot of dislikes - it's so fun to get something I never would have thought of, or chosen for myself, yet end up loving it. However, the allergies keep me from enjoying strongly scented things and I don't really have any use for reward stickers.
