About Me

Hey there! My name is Caitlyn Dubé and I live in the U.S. Truth be told, I always find these personal things really difficult and awkward, but it seems that since I’m new to this site, this personal about page serves as my only credentials soooo here we go!

Well, art has been part of my life for a long time. I have other talents too like singing and writing, which I developed around the same time: 3rd grade. I moved a lot as a kid so I’ve experienced many kinds of people, places, and their culture. I was born in the U.S., but I’ve lived in Canada and Puerto Rico. I’ve also traveled to France which was one of the best experiences of my life. Japan or Ireland is next on my list!

I have ample experience in the world of art. I’ve taken school classes since 3rd grade, all the way to IB High School art scoring 2nd highest in my class. I’ve worked with ink, acrylic, oil, watercolor, pen, graphite, charcoal, wood, foam, metal, and fabrics. But my favorite medium is ink, pencil, and metal.

Now, I have swapped ACEOs or ATCs before over Instagram where you can see some of my work @caitydubs221B or this link http://instagram.com/caitydubs221b

I pretty much do whatever comes to mind, but it’s usually inspired by something someone’s said or a story for a novel I have in my head. I have seven different books I’m writing which either means I’m an incredible multi-tasker or I have a problematic lack of focus. Ha!

Considering I have traded with people internationally, swapping would not be something new. I am here for more trustworthy access to art and easier swapping. Plus, it’s fun and I love seeing the postage stamps from around the world!

I hope this site can help me interact with some incredible artists and people. I always hope that I’m able to make someone’s day! Thanks for making this site Swap-Bot!

But please be assured that I will love whatever it is I get! Again, thank you!

Sincerely, CaityDubs

What I'm Looking For

For people who are curious as to what I'm interested in, I enjoy ATCs, post cards, tea, hand-written letters, beads, ribbons, cute tape, stamps, bookmarks, photos, squares of scrap fabric, scrapbook paper, words written in another language, books, music, stickers, empty metal tins, dried flowers, and so on. Truthfully, it's just fun to swap unique things with everyone so I'll enjoy whatever I get :D

BUT I love above ANYTHING are awesomely decorated mail. I always send out (usually...unless something happens) pretty or artistic-looking mail.

Comment: I finally received your swap! Wow, thought it has gone lost since it took too long to arrive and even has March postmark which I find quite weird. Anyway, the envelope looks very beautiful and I think you are a great artist! :) The papers for the Q&A on the other hand looks boring since all are black & white :P However, I enjoy reading all the answers and some are even similar to mine ;) Thanks for the extras! Cheers and have a nice day!~
Comment: UPDATE: I did receive the swap today, with a March postmark, so it was sent quite late. However, the swap was lovely. The envelope was beautiful! The paper you chose for the letter was also quite pretty, and I enjoyed reading your thoughts on tea. :) Thank you for sending! / Original Rating Comment: I will re-rate appropriately if I ever receive this swap. The swap deadline was January 12th. This was a very easy swap to send. You did contact me a week later (after the send date) to say you had sent the swap but I still have not received anything. Sorry to have to rate you a "1".

Comment: Caitlyn, thanks for taking the trouble to write such long prompts and especially for writing a creative nonfiction piece, I can see you're on your way to a writing career. I'd only mention that French fries (crisps as you call them in the UK), in France are spelled frittes. If you spell then fritz they sound German although that's not their name in German.
Response: Thank you! Haha I actually found that out in french class. We were going over table and restaurant vocabulary and I found the correct way to spell them, too late of course. But thank you ^^ Glad you liked it.

Comment: I'm Slytherin too- for the same reasons you described. Nothing wrong with ambition (as long as you don't hurt people to get ahead). And I've never been to a LeakyCon, but I hope to have a chance someday- the expenses are a bit much for me. For now….
Response: I agree whole-heartedly. And I hope you get the chance :) It's really awesome. I just got lucky because I live in Orlando, but who knows!
